I wondered just how long it would be until someone brought up the last UH loss to Holy Cross. They lost, HC won. They know it, HC knows it and now it comes full cycle for HC (with Sluka) to do it again!

Due to Fordham coaches abandoning the run Fordham's last 3 TD's were running TD's. Interesting, because DeMorat actually finished 1 passing TD short of tying the FCS single season record with 56 TD's. The record is 57 passing TD's by Sam Houston's Jeremiah Briscoe in 2016. Two other QB's also have 56 - Willie "Satellite" Totten from Miss. Valley State in 1984 and Bruce Eugene from Grambling in 2005 27 of Willie "Satellite" Totten's TD passes in 1984 went to Jerry Rice

In the "good old days" before St. A's had a football team, they were noted for track and especially cross country. Don't know what their top sport is now after 55+ years. I do recall they were NY State football champs 20-30 years ago. St. A's is ranked #1 in the state in football as of when I last checked. There's no overall state championship in football in New York as the Catholic schools, NYC public schools and LI public schools all have their seasons conclude amongst each other, as do the downstate private schools. They did add a Catholic state championship game in the top division a few years back between the downstate (NYC/LI) and upstate (Buffalo area) champs. St. Anthony's is still more or less a machine in just about every sport.

Has Foley stolen this guy's identity? I haven't seen or watched a snap of UNH play since Dartmouth smoked them last season. The QB play last year was subpar.

In the last two seasons Chaminade and Holy Trinity have been better.at boys’ hoops. A grandson named Dave Debusschere has led Chaminade St. Anthony’s girl’s team has been dominant.

The PL Commissioner calling the UNH AD to say hey we're sorry the officials blew the call which gave the game to Holy Cross is Holy Cross winning it and everyone knows it. Interesting logic!

It's only Monday. Let's see how many more stupid bulletin-board comments Espanet can come up with before Saturday. Bulletin-board material seriously. Stupid for expressing his opinion and the opinion of many who don't wear purple and white glasses and probably believe they could beat ND or Alabama if the game was played in Worcester. Come on. This game the pressure is all on Holy Cross no doubt about it. You're favored, you went undefeated in the PL, at home you should win.

Comments are fun but meaningless. The conversation on the field on Saturday is the only one that counts. All the rest is background noise.

Not a clue where you got any of your argument about me saying you won't stay close. I've said numerous times you're favored you should win. You went undefeated in the PL. I gave you a fact of what happen after the last time our two schools played and obviously it doesn't support your narrative of a win by Holy Cross with no controversy at all but it's simply not true. You might not like the facts I gave you but there the facts. I hope it's a great game but god I can't imagine if UNH defeats Holy Cross this weekend what this board will be like that afternoon.

If we lose, we will have lost to a better team on Saturday. That is a fact.
Game has a lot of bounces and it can be a game of inches
In almost every case the better team in a given game wins
If we lose, I will tip my hat to the UNH team and fans, say well done, and go win your next game
And I am sure you will do the same
After all it is a game, it is close to life and death, but it is not
Enjoy the week and as they say at the end of the game the better team on Dec 3 will win the game
God bless, and good luck

Will you be at the game?
JMO but this game will turn on penalties and turnovers. HC is pretty poor on the former and pretty good on the latter. Teams are evenly matched unless we get back some of our injured players and a reason why our level of play was better earlier in the season.

I think the first half will be similar to our game with Fordham and Buffalo- like a boxing match testing each other
Second half will be about defense, discipline and determination
If my wife is willing to travel I plan on attending the DH

From an NE Football Journal article (https://nefootballjournal.com/2022/11/28/unh-playoff-game-in-worcester-sets-up-unique-opportunity-for-espanet-santos/) -- “Holy Cross stole one from us back in 2019, they know it, we know it, and it’s come full circle.” What I know was Liam Doran blowing up a running play in the end zone, forcing a fumble, and Joe Lang recovering the ball for a touchdown. ...and then there is this gem: "Pressure’s on them, I’m sure they’ll have a great week of practice in their beautiful $100,000,000 facility. We’ll be grinding in ‘the ham’ (Durham) like we always do.” WOW! I'm sure you realize the Holy Cross defender was out of bounds when he recovered the ball and it shouldn't have been a td. I do give the PL Commissioner credit as they called Marty at UNH to apologize for the officiating error. Saturday we'll see what happens. The CAA Co-Champions vs. the PL undefeated champions it should be a lot of fun. The winner to battle the #1 seed Jackrabbits! Brian is correct all of the pressure is on Holy Cross. You all so desperately want respect and feel like the 8th seed was a sign of disrespect this is a game you have to win. The PL is a much lower ranked conference than the CAA so he's right you need this win. You're favored, it's at home, you're undefeated in on the season, the UNH backfield is injured it all points to Holy Cross marching on to SD where the ride ends. ! I think we all agree that the game played 3 years ago has no impact on Saturday’s game. This is the first I’m hearing of the PL commissioner calling the UNH AD about this, do you have any article about that? Not saying it did not happen, just surprised I had not heard about it. About the TD. 1) The TD was reviewed for a good period of time before it was confirmed. 2) It should have been called a TD earlier in the play near the goal line. #97 for HC has the ball in the end zone. As the HC player spun around a UNH player knocked it out. click on the picture to blow it up. Attachment Deleted

Thanks for the picture with Jason Modak clearly in possession with the football and downed, with the recovered football, in the end zone before the ball forced out of his hands.
The officials must have seen that Jason had the ball, thus the TD, and not just a safety.

I hope the Rams have a good QB in the wings or find one in the portal to replace Demorat. We need at least one running mate team in the league.

Went to the game Fordham beat themselves. UNH is good but capitalized on Fordham mistakes (turnovers) and the Rams bad special teams. Will be good to play a new team and I think the Crusaders match up well with the Wildcats. UNH should also bring some fans. What are we thinking crowd wise 6k? Seriously! Fordham beat themselves? The arrogance of some posters on this board never ceases to amaze me. I can only imagine what some people will sound like if a CAA team which is a higher ranked and respected conference beats the number 8 seed next weekend. It will be all that Holy Cross beat themselves. I try to have respect for my opponent and realize on any given day anyone can beat anyone. LOL. This you from 2019? ”Your kidding me right? Your offense did not score a touchdown all day. UNH had the high snap that led to the one td you got when we fumbled. UNH’s qbs over threw and missed receivers the last leading to the interception. Come on I realize your a fan of the Cross but if you think Holy Cross won and UNH didn’t beat themselves I’m not sure what game you were watching. We played a ton of freshman, played our third string center due to injury and were without our head coach a recipe for disaster and it was.”

All this because someone posted that Fordham beat themselves? Really? One of my wife’s former co-workers used to say: “Get over it!” Unhfan has had the same view of HC and the fans on this board for years. He comes in searching for evidence that everyone here is stuck in the past, that we think we’re Alabama, that we don’t respect our opponents, blah, blah, blah. Then he seeks out validation of those views in fairly innocuous comments on a sports fan board and goes bananas. And he continues to perpetuate this myth about the PL commissioner calling UNH to apologize for the “PL refs” stealing the game from UNH last time they were in Worcester. Time to move on. We all think UNH is a good team and that the game on Saturday is a pick ‘em. If he wants to convince himself that we’re all crazy and delusional and disrespectful, so be it.
