UNH fan here -- I've been following the cats since 2004. Congrats to HC on the deserving seed and great year! While I'm happy to be staying local, I'm not thrilled to be playing Cross -- terrible match up for us. We have struggled mightily against the zone read this season, particularly in games against Rhode Island and Maine. No doubt HC will be up on both, and neither QB was in Slukas class. I suspect UNHs goal this game will be to make HC earn it with long drives, but UNH will consistently struggle to get off the field on third and reasonable. Doubt that will change much. The chance for UNH is Brosmer and Laube. Brosmer last threw a pick like six weeks ago, and Laube is one of the best players in FCS. I'd expect him to get thirty touches again. UNH plays a ton of guys on defense. 8 lineman, five backers, but they are thin in the secondary. A good tell on how thin they are will be if Noah Stansbury plays. If he doesn't, you'll see UNHs fourth and fifth corners in standard and nickel formations. Wrengun this is going to be a wonderful battle of two worthy opponents Hope all are healthy and both teams can offer their best

I think most of us think of this as a pick ‘em and a game in which you should probably bet the over. Our defense has been pretty mediocre since the loss of LB Jacob Dobbs earlier in the year. Our secondary also tends not to ever find the ball in the air so we get beat for a lot of long plays down the field. Our offense is pretty balanced and Sluka is a different kind of cat who is going to get his production one way or another. Good luck on Saturday.

Randall Harris is a legitimate starting corner at this level. Most teams throw away from him. Max Oxendine is an athletic deep safety who throws big hits and has good recovery speed. Ryan Toscano is an incredibly smart if undersized linebacker. Niko Kvietkus is our best interior lineman.

Grandson of an original Patriot, Larry Garron. Dad and uncle both were UNH standouts.

Here's hoping we get the SDSU fans posting here next week as they did in April of '21. Unlike some school's fans, they were a real good bunch. Lamenting their upset loss to Delaware and wishing us well??

And I'll throw in this: I'd like to see Delaware folks posting on the board next week, especially Mr. Chicken from the AGS boards. Bawk!

In other sports news, the University of Delaware bus was delayed on the New Jersey turnpike today as a large strip of retread tire came off the front right wheel.
The Blue Hens still hope to arrive in Worcester in time for a good night's sleep before their 11AM start tomorrow.

I’d give that number an outside chance on a great weather day. If the current forecast of rain much of the day doesn’t change, no chance. More like 5K if we’re lucky.

Current forecast is rain. Temperature in the low 50s. Wind from the south 20-25 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph. Slick ball, high crosswind = no long passes.

Dad and uncle both were UNH standouts. I haven't seen Garron dress all season. He doesn't really look hurt, but not all injuries show clearly all the time. I have seen him on the sidelines with the team on a regular basis. Technically speaking, he also plays UNH's deepest position, with Ruiz and Silver starting and DeVaughn and Chris Donnelly as the rotational backups.

We need all of 'Sader nation's support for this historic game! Kickoff is scheduled for 12:00 pm with parking lots opening at 8:00 am. Please know that Freshman Field, the Garage, and West Lot are sold out for this game and there will be no Baseball Lot parking. We encourage everyone to park at the Hogan and Luth lots on upper campus or at Polar Beverages parking lot located at 1001 Southbridge Street, Auburn, MA. Shuttle services will run from all locations to Fitton Field.

Stop Laube on the ground and you stop the Wildcats?
UNH has a 9-3 record to date. Dylan Laube played in 11 games. UNH did beat Dartmouth 14-0 in the one game he did not play. Comparing the 8 other wins versus the 3 losses shows a stark contrast in the rushing stats for UNH's great running back Dylan Laube.
In 8 wins with Laube
Laube 186 carries for 1,007 yards and 14 touchdowns 5.4 yards per carry 126 yards per game
Laube 26 receptions for 277 yards and 1 touchdown 10.7 yards per reception 35 yards per game
In 3 losses with Laube
Laube 42 carries for 146 yards and 1 touchdown 3.5 yards per carry 49 yards per game
Laube 18 receptions for 169 yards and 1 touchdown 9.3 yards per reception' 56 yards per game
Of course, it's understandable that if your key player has an off game it hurts your chances to win, but there may be more to it than that. No doubt our coaches are watching videos of all the UNH games to identify keys to success.
Let's stop Laube (and Brosmer....)

I was looking at the available tickets on the HC website and it appears more visitor side tickets have been sold than on the home side. My guess is a paid crowd around 8k for this game. Does anyone know who the ESPN announcers are for this game? I think the two regulars do a great job. Regardless, hoping HC will continue to prove they are for real. Then have HC host the Blue Hens next Saturday for a chilly quarter final game.

I would guess same announcers for Saturday since HC is in charge of the ESPN+ production as the host school. Good chance we'd be on the deuce (ESPN2) for a potential quarterfinal game.
