Line might dip to 4.5 or 5 by kickoff
Doesn't matter as the 60 minutes before us get played between the lines on the field and not in Vegas
Go Cross Go✝️✝️✝️🏈🏈🏈

I imagine the line could change as more details of the weather come out. We and Matt Sluka are definitely better when there is an RPO threat or when Sluka can find Jaylen or Ayir deep.
In other news, watching Bills and Pats in awe of Josh Allen. His journey to being the dual threat he is today, from small-town multi-sport athlete to a running QB to a Pro Bowl QB, reminds me of Sluka. I hope his journey keep moving forward and he keeps climbing. IIRC, Josh Allen put up huge numbers at a JUCO in California and still only had offers from Wyoming and a couple of MAC schools.

And as a Jet fan, this journey kills me...I was screaming up and down for the Jets to draft him, instead we are potentially moving on from the second top 5 QB we have drafted since we could have drafted Allen. Literally the only knock on him out of college was a slightly depressed completion percentage, I said at the time replace a Wyoming receiver with, for example, a Stefon Diggs, that percentage will improve.

The Wise Guys don't know everything. Supposedly the line the two days before the game dipped considerably towards the Patriots. They weren't really in the game, not blown out; but certainly didn't give the betting line a threat.

Looks like most of the game will be played with moderate rain. There might be some breaks towards the end of the game or letting up all together if the game has as many stoppages as the Harvard game. Going to be interesting to see how the two teams gameplan it out. Also looks like peak wind will be mid-game as well. Prof. Chaos on Any Given Saturday posted a Tale of the Tape for the game and it appears both teams could lean heavily on the run.

Mutual admiration society between BC and Santos. This might well be one of the best games ever at Fitton, just like the Fordham game was.
Please, Jesus, Mary and Joseph, make Jake Dobbs back to 100% and play in this game! 🙏🏻✝️💒

Some more reading material for everyone on the brilliantly sunny but chilly Friday across New England: herosports.com/fcs-football-2022-second-round-intrigue-dsds/ 2022 FCS Second-Round Games Ranked By IntrigueDaniel Steenkamer; December 1, 2022 1) New Hampshire at No. 8 seed Holy Cross Coaching is a theme eastward as well, where New Hampshire looks to make good on a trendy upset pick at eighth-seeded Holy Cross. This is a big moment for unbeaten HC and the Patriot League, as having a quarterfinalist would be momentous for the conference and the program in Worcester. Bob Chesney is the head coach who’s constructed that ascending program and gotten national attention in the process. Right in New England, though, Chesney’s impression made on the area is unmistakable, sweetening the intrigue approaching a regional showdown with UNH. “He’s earned that reputation,” UNH coach Rick Santos told HERO Sports. “He’s one of the best coaches in the nation at any level. He’s built programs at the Division II, III level, now at the Division I level. He’s extremely organized, he’s detailed, cerebral, very smart guy, well-spoken. I think he’s an elite motivator; you see how hard his guys play on Saturdays and they fly around, they have an edge about them.” Santos considers those credentials to heighten his squad’s challenge in the second round. “I don’t see many weaknesses in his game, if any. I don’t think there are,” he continued, later observing, “you look at that [Holy Cross] roster, it’s not a typical FCS roster. I think they have some [FBS] Group of 5 talent guys on there, some guys that we went head-to-head recruiting the last three or four years, and flat-out, they beat us on a lot of really good recruits.” Santos and New Hampshire seek to serve up some payback from the recruiting trail on the field in our top-ranked game for intrigue.

Any ideas re: a place on campus to watch the soccer game before heading to Fitton? Does Hogan have decent-sized TVs downstairs?

And they don't even play football (so I'd definitely take them over Bucknell this year!) Bucknell might have lost to the other BU in football. Do they still even have the goalposts up at Nickerson Field anymore? I remember they took them down at Parsons Field (NU) when they renovated it.

Any ideas re: a place on campus to watch the soccer game before heading to Fitton? Does Hogan have decent-sized TVs downstairs? I emailed Chris Herrion. He says the group play was shown in Crossroads in Hogan. He assumes it will be shown there but was not certain. This forecast is making me think about staying home.

Excerpts from an ESPN+ article re: the FCS Round of Sixteen -
New Hampshire is back in the playoffs for the first time since 2017, and junior running back Dylan Laube has already made sure the Wildcats' stay is a memorable one. In last week's wild 52-42 win over Fordham, he scored on an 87-yard catch-and-run four minutes into the game, added three rushing touchdowns and finished his day with 157 rushing yards, 127 receiving yards, 119 kick return yards and 21 punt return yards. I'm disappointed head coach Rick Santos didn't put him in on defense to see if he could pick off a pass and return it for big yardage, too.
UNH came on strong late in 2022, winning five of its last six (with only a tight loss to Richmond) and surviving an overtime battle with Maine to eke out a playoff bid. And now that they've survived a track meet against offense-heavy Fordham, Laube and company head to Worcester to face a Holy Cross team that hasn't lost since last year's round of 16.
While UNH was led by a run-and-catch threat last week, Holy Cross is led by a run-and-pass threat. Quarterback Matthew Sluka has thrown for 2,301 yards and 25 touchdowns and leads the team with 918 rushing yards, too. Jalen Coker averages 20 yards per catch out wide, too, and this game might have as much track-meet potential as UNH-Fordham did. Whether it's Laube, Sluka, Coker or someone else, odds are good that this game is going to produce some silly stat lines.
Title odds:
16. New Hampshire: 0.7%. At 31st in SP+, the Wildcats are the lowest-ranked team remaining in the field. If Laube can remain in Heisman mode, UNH certainly has the defense to win another game or two, but winning four more is likely too much to ask.
9. Holy Cross: 5.7%. The Crusaders have been far too much for the Patriot League in recent years and raised their game when required, beating FBS' Buffalo with late Hail Mary heroics and beating two of the Ivy League's best teams (Yale and Harvard) by a combined 33 points. Can they take down Laube and UNH and potentially earn a shot at the top-seed in the quarterfinals?

I think Anderson is a better matchup against Laube than Greenhagen was. Greenhagen is on the lengthier side, while Anderson is more stocky. I think this matches up better with the 5-10 Laube. However, we have still struggled with RB's of this size/speed. Aidan Borguet of Harvard ran for 91 and 2 TD's. Jaden Sutton of Lafayette ran for 137 and 7 a carry. Both of these guys are below 6FT and in the low 200s, like Laube. It's going to take the entire D though, as one guy cannot stop both Laube and Brosmer. Brosmer is Slukaesque with his last second jukes to avoid tackles, but rarely has big rushing numbers.
Note:Hard to find film bc of the CAA's streaming service
