(This may be the wrong thread for this.)
We’ve gotten used to star college kids sitting out bowl games enroute to the NFL draft…but this sitting out is enroute to a transfer
“Drew Pyne appears to be leaving Notre Dame.
The Irish quarterback announced on Twitter on Friday that he is entering the transfer portal. Pyne has three years of eligibility left, and will not play with Notre Dame in its bowl game.
It’s unclear where Pyne will look to transfer. The Connecticut native was a four-star Rivals.com recruit out of high school and the seventh-best quarterback in his class. He had offers from Alabama, Auburn, Baylor, LSU, Michigan, Miami and others before landing in South Bend.
It’s unclear who will play quarterback for Notre Dame in their bowl game. Pyne replaced Tyler Buchner, who underwent season-ending surgery in September. The next player on the depth chart is freshman Steve Angeli, who hasn’t thrown a pass this season.”
According to one source Pyne got word ND will be hitting the portal to land a grad transfer QB for next year. (A Jack Coan sort of thing).

Since Phil Jurkovec went from ND to starting QB at BC , maybe Drew Pyne (from Connecticut, BTW) will do the same. Of course Jurkovec himself is now in the portal but that’s another story.

If the Pyne from Milford, an OL 4 star guy in high school, was not at BC already and transferring out; he'd be more what BC needs than a QB. Of course, one could also seriously question that player's ability or work ethic or both considering he's leaving BC in the first place.
