I just checked ESPN schedules. The game is on both ESPN and ESPN+, 12 PM EST. There is not other football game scheduled in that time slot. The only FBS game, Army-Navy starts at 3 PM. When was the last time HC football was broadcast on ESPN, the main channel? Was it a Thursday night game @ Villanova last millennium?

I assume Oliver will be in Las Vegas for the the night of December 6th for the Campbell Trophy presentation. Would he fly back to Boston on the 7th, and then get on the charter flight to SD on the 9th?

Does HC and SDSU receive more in broadcast payout because the game is on ESPN?
Re; Game Day, ESPN says this: CHECK BACK FOR INFO ON NEXT WEEK'S SHOW!

If a player's team is still playing, wouldn't they film a segment from Worcester instead of having him schlep to Vegas and back? What stays in Vegas might be an extra 20 yards of rushing against the wabbits.

FWIW, just sent an email request for possible flights to SD to Kit, Nick and Justin. I wouldn’t mind paying to be in the same flights as the team a la 45 with the basketball team way back when the Crusaders were in the basketball playoffs. As someone else posted, it’s not that hard to fly to MSP Friday and fly back Saturday night or Sunday on JetBlue via Minneapolis. 3.5 hour drive from MSP to Brookings. This is what I did for the last game. Not a bad option at all.

From Kit Hughes re: flights, etc. to SD: I think it’s a Hampton Inn, not Hilton Garden in Brookings

Re the Campbell Trophy- has the voting already taken place or did Peter just get a nice boost from his stellar play versus the Wildcats?

12:00 ET is a fantastic time slot for this game and will generate a ton of eyeballs from the casual sports fan. First, it's on big ESPN. Not Plus, U, or 2...big boy ESPN. It's the ONLY football game on. Not competing with the NFL, FBS, or any other FCS games. It's a great precursor to Army - Navy, which is on at 3:00. How many millions of dollars have the football team generated for the college in earned media this year? Winning is fun. Makes for good watch parties too.

Re the Campbell Trophy- has the voting already taken place or did Peter just get a nice boost from his stellar play versus the Wildcats? I believe the voting took place before Saturday. I suspect that once the 15 finalists are chosen, there is a second vote to select the Campbell award from the 15. I would think the second vote occurs fairly late in the season, game 10 or 11, but not as late as game 12 or 13. The 15 finalists get $16K or $18K graduate school scollies, --can't remember which -- and the Campbell award winner gets an additional sum to bring his award to $25K.

HC-Villanova in 1987 -- last game of the season. 1987 Holy Cross team was absolutely ridiculously dominant. Beat the 2nd place team in the Colonial League -- Lehigh 63-6. 3-0 against the Yankee Conference => UMASS W 54-10, William & Mary W 40-7, Villanova W 39-6 Beat Army 34-24 in a game we led 31-7 early third quarter Closest game against I-AA competition - a 40-11 victory over Lafayette in home opener

Holy Cross smoked Princeton 46-0 in 1989 on ESPN. I still have the tape.

FWIW, earlier today I fired off an email to Joanna Geraghty Kelly '94 who happens to be COO of JetBlue and appealed to her for help getting a flight from New England to either Sioux Falls or Minneapolis. I wouldn't care if PVD, Logan, Worcester, Manchester or Hartford.
Edit: you beat me ChuChu

I am sure safety checks for these flights have improved since then. For whatever the reason, the smaller the plane the more nervous I am about flying on it.

IIRC, that was a JetBlue charter, where they flew the aircraft from NYC airport to Allentown to Buffalo to Worcester to either Boston or back to NYC. I think a JetBlue charter to South Dakota would be tres cher, because ithe nearest JetBlue airport is Minneapolis St. Paul, with one non-stop flight a day between BOS and MSP.

Pleasant drive, but IMO if a group is going to pony up for a charter flight would make sense to just fly into Sioux Falls, no? But as PP pointed out, it would likely cost less to fly in and out of airports that JetBlue already flies into.

If we got enough fans on a JetBlue flight to MSP, we could get a bus to Sioux Falls.
