Good thing we don’t play Brown. Not that HC has anything more to offer Mike Martin than he's getting at Brown (other than a better gym and maybe more money, maybe not); but Martin's a pretty good coach it would seem. It certainly does although his career record of 121-140 might turn some people off. Brown hasn’t exactly been a hoops power over the years though. Martin also had a nice career as a Brown player. Class of 2004.

Maybe Will was uncomfortable? Hopefully a bump in the road, but at SHU was there any debate about who deserved to be out there and who did not? HC loses by 15-20 if the usual ratio of playing time between Batch and Tse is in effect; and whatever we say (that includes me) about Nelson's coaching (in)ability, at least it doesn't include losing games for the sake of giving someone minutes for the future.

From a good source, Kevin Bettencourt also inquired about the job, but Marcus Blossom didn't return his call.

Wondering if he is having trouble playing with the mask? Or maybe just hitting the freshman wall early, given all that was expected from him from the get go? I watch Batch and think back to Andrew Beinert. AB had to be the point guard because that's where the need was. I always felt like he could have averaged 20 ppg if he could have played off the ball.

Will scored 14 against the Q and 10 against Northeastern while wearing a mask. I was wondering about freshman wall myself. Nothing good comes from relying on a freshman to run the offense. I liked the fact that Coach Willard always had the two point guards going - an older and a younger one who had time to learn the college ropes without the pressure of being the man. From Serravalle to Meade to Thomas to Doherty. In all fairness to Coach Nelson, Johnson and Luc were supposed to be carrying the load while Batch acclimated himself to the college game
