another sign of our apathy - there's a game tomorrow and no thread
HC takes on the Pioneers of Sacred Heart in a mid week morning match up. Sacred Heart is 5-8 (4-8 vs D-I). The Pioneers are riding a losing streak, but there last win was 66-61 at UNH. For comparison purposes we didn't fare that well in our trip to Durham
Since we're concerned about match-ups with guys a lot taller than Gates, SH only has one guy (6'8) who gets many minutes, but he is not a starter

Since we are at least competing on the boards, and Gates is certainly holding his own vs bigger centers, the size of the opponent seems low on the matchup list. Joey Reilly averaging around 10 ppg

I think a lot of us here are long-time fans and we have never seen HC hoops in such a sorry state when it comes to wins and losses. To make it worse, our schedule hasn't exactly been all that difficult.

Massey makes SHU a five point favorite (74-69) and gives them a 63% chance for the win. Since their win at UNH, they have lost 5 straight, including one to a non-D1 team. SHU has not beaten any D1 teams with a winning record.

Quite right. They played Western New England (D3) but won. I guess it only matters when it is HC that plays lower than D1. SHU still has not beaten any D1 teams with a winning record.

SHU’s record is 4-8. Not sure what that means. SHU has wins over Hartford, Columbia, Binghamton, Western New England and New Hampshire. Isn't that five?

OK, they have 2 wins over non-D1 teams. Is that better, since some who post here do not want to count those games? Is that why you said their record is 4-8? Since I go with a team's actual record, I (and SHU) see their record as 5-8. When some folks choose to not count some games that the school counts, it can get confusing.

According to Bart Torvik, SHU is #322 and our Crusaders are #353. A loss today may well put HC in Torvik’s bottom ten.

In all likelihood, the final opportunity for Nelson to pick up his first road non-conference win (has come up empty in his first 16 attempts).

HC should do this for all games during winter break.

Any chance the move included some extra bench players who can provide some production?

Best way to take in this game is with the volume muted and eyes closed.

Not seeing Lewis on the bench.
DeSantis said Louth and Rabs have lower leg issues....wondering if they have stress fractures. Lord knows the fan base has one giant stress fracture.
