Stephanie Linnartz , '90 was just named CEO and she is on the HC Board of Trustees.
Classmate of mine Anne Fink is President of Pepsi Foodservice and when she was on the HC BOT we became a Pepsi school.
Git 'er Done Stephanie pony up a few bucks to sponsor alma mater and get rid of that Adidas black alternate jersey in favor of an Under Armour Gray/Silver!

Let's find a supplier that makes only Royal Purple uniforms with white numbers & letters and white uniforms with Royal Purple letters & numbers Probably not, particularly if they are giving cash to the college to wear the uniform. But at least you can see royal purple on a gray jersey. And since white is technically not one of our colors, I don't mind any other colors as long as you can identify the purple. Gray meets that requirement.

I hate UA's uniforms. On most of them, digits are too small. Can't say I like the shoes very much either.

Would this not be characterized as a conflict of interest ?

Can't say that any of the current uniform styling is to my taste either, but if it rids us of black, I'm for it. And there is nothing to say that we have to have a shoe deal too.
As to conflict of interest, perhaps, but if the deal is consistent with what UA does with other similar schools - both Colgate & American wear Under Armour (not sure if they get paid to do so) - and Ms. Linnartz recuses herself from the negotiations for each side, I can see it passing muster. UA founder and chairman Kevin Plank is a Maryland alum, on the U Maryland College Park BOTs and they are in so deep with each other hard to say there is not a conflict there, but boards of both institutions still approve it.

Hear! Hear! I second the motion. We've got one color - purple. Not purple & white, not purple & gray, not gray, certainly not black. An abomination. Almost as bad as no Crusader.

Just for the record- i my post I mentioned “white” only because you must have a contrasting color to make the numbers and letters legible. Note that “Royal Purple” is capitalized in recognition of it being the only official color of Holy Cross.

I should think it would not be a conflict of interest if the price HC pays is not higher than what it would be if the person were not on the board. In fact, I'd guess that HC would likely enjoy a nice discount.

HC does not receive any cash from Adidas, only product in the form of unis. I heard differently from an informed source six or seven years ago regarding the original contract with Adidas. At the time, UA did not match the total offer from Adidas. Was the monetary payment to HC discontinued with the renewal?

Adidas "really stepped with product" apx 7 yrs ago, not any $ vs what UA offered when Nate Pine solicited an arrangement based his relationship with UA from his time at UMD. There are many schools with a LOT higher profile than HC, including a fair amount of 1As who only get product as well. HC is not getting unis plus $, They get unis only.
