Massey makes Navy a 12 point favorite (74-62) with an 85% chance for the win over HC.

I'm sure that was before our great win over Bucknell!

HC has to build off the Bucknell win...Continue to play the pressure defense, double on the post, and jump the screen and roll...I think the players overall, have to get better at anticipating the ball movement so their off the ball movement will be quicker...If they see it and then re-act, that is too slow, they must re-act before it happens, anticipate it! I think HC caught Bucknell off guard with the doubles..We haven't seen that from this squad this season on the level they used it Friday..At Navy, HC will have to change up how they double to be successful. That was Coach Willards' style, change it up every game..take away what the opponents want to do.. On offense, I think HC needs to keep moving the ball, and move without the ball..Gates has to been the focus of the offense, and he can still distribute. Bo needs to play as he did Friday, and not drive into traffic! He had a few scores of drives with a clear path to the hoop, hit at least one jumper just under the FT line with the lane all clogged, and did have that offensive foul driving into a pile of Bucknell players ala Peter Oliver.. Batch had a quite game, but solid..and he hit2 of the biggest hoops for HC, the 3 from in front of his bench and the spinning driving layup very late...He stretches the D just by being there..
The team leaves Sunday, so hopefully they will have a lot of time to get prepared both physically and mentaly. I hope Octave stays in the starting line-up, and if Caleb is healthy,he comes off the bench...To my eyes, Octave gives the 'Saders much more on both ends of the floor!
I for one, think Wiblar can contribute, BUT he has to do the things he is good at...Offensive rebound and put backs, pass the ball, take an occasional 3. His big liability is his lack of foot quickness needed to defend the post players he is up against..Perhaps Coach can go zone for a few minutes Wilbar is in giving Gates a rest..Coach needs to find a way to use his bench players to give his regulars a breather without loosing ground on the scoreboard..

I love your enthusiasm.
However, I watched the first half of the Navy/BU game and I am not optimistic.
Navy plays a very aggressive 2/3 zone that I fear will give this Crusader team fits.
I will be pleasantly surprised if it is still a close game in the second half.
Hoping for the best but very concerned we could get shut down offensively.

Key question- versus Bucknell, a very good 3 point shooting team, we had one of our top two games (opponents 3 point percentage) of the past 10 years. Can we get similar results versus Navy the #4 3 point percentage team in D-1? I don’t mean the same 2-19, but can we hold Navy under 25%?

Tougher to limit a good 3 point shooting team when they are at home. Octave is a solid perimeter offensive player. Kenney gives us better defense, especially against a big, shot blocking and offensive rebounding. No matter who starts, both will probably play big minutes. Kenney tends to get in foul trouble more often.

I think we need Octave on the floor..He can shoot and score going to the rim, and defends pretty well..Keney clogs up the inside and gets in Gates way. He, Keney is very limited on offense..His defender can stay inside and clog up the lane area, Keney won't shoot it beyond 5 feet....

He reminds a bit of RJ Evans. Very good at getting to the rim and finishing in traffic.

I have no intention of getting lost in them. Just providing some needed context. You do not need to be condescending.

To his credit, Joe stayed out on the court by himself before the game (after initial warm ups) to shoot a lot of 3's by himself.

HC didn't handle the zone very well...2 defenders up top, move the point to onw side, make the D defend the ball..use the wing and make that defender move side to side..When the ball is at the top, the top 2 defenders can take away the pass to the wing....Wing to high post to weak side..use the short corner..We haven't seen much zone this season, have to adjust to it quickly!
Didn't score for the last 3 minutes or so..
