The Maine Black Bears are now 2-7 (wins over Maine Presque Isle and Longwood / losses to Maine Fort Kent, Virginia Tech, Boston U, Northeastern, LIU Brooklyn, CCSU and Duke). In Massey, Holy Cross is favored by 9 (75-66) with a 78% chance for the win.
PS: Did any of you try watching the UNH game online? If you did, how did it work for you? My screen kept freezing, audio was intermittent. I used Safari (on my MacBook). Any suggestions?
Corrected, thanks to timholycross.

Watched on line. No problems once I got connected (the link from HC schedule defaulted to a Vermont game a few days hence "which had not started yet").
Watched on my desktop.

I think they beat Presque Isle....but they sure as hell lost to Fort Kent...which I don't think is even in the NCAA any more.

I fixed the write-up above...thanks. They did beat Presque Isle (96-45). You are right about Fort Kent. They are 7-2 and are members of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA), not the NCAA.

Maine looks experienced and tall on paper, but they have not looked good in any game yet this year. Of course, I can remember not too long ago when teams seemed to wait for HC to have a coming out party. Any of you know why the game is at 5:30? Is it because of the long drive home after a midweek game?

Before writing off the Bruins, we need to remember that HC won by a single point 76-75 (thanks WG) last year at the Hart! I was so traumatized by the UNH Game, I had 50s on the brain.

Before writing off the Bruins, we need to remember that HC won by a single point 56-55 last year at the Hart! Actually, 76-75, but point well taken. Maine had clearly been drilled on attacking the 1-3-1, and shot the ball well (53% from two, 38% from three). Difference in the game was at the line, where Maine was 5-8 and HC was 17-28. That said, they are not a good team, and we should win.

I normally use Google Chrome, however it seems to have trouble playing the America East TV. I switched to Mozilla Firefox and it worked fine, albeit with one or two freezes, but I believe those were caused on my end.

According to CBS Sports rating of 351 teams: 251. Maine Recruiting to Orono is one of the hardest jobs in D-I hoops. They're up there, those Black Bears. But expect more grown in Bob Walsh's third year. From three wins to eight wins to, I'd say, 12. [Let's hope that HC Is not one of those 12.]
Here is what they said about HC: 215. Holy Cross Still can't get over me asking every coach in last year's NCAA Tournament what their favorite musical artist and/or band was ... and Bill Carmody picked Bach. [Does that show that Norlander knows hoops? Perhaps he is just trying to cover his complete lack of knowledge of Holy Cross.]

Maine will be without Aaron Calixte, who was one of their best 3PT shooters from a year ago, as he injured his foot in practice after their second game of the season. A big loss for Maine.

HC had 24 turnovers in the improbable 1 point victory over Maine at the Hart Center last year. Maine lost by 21, at home, to a weak Central Connecticut team one week ago. This season's HC squad (despite two heart breaking losses) is a markedly better team than last year's team. I would take no opponent lightly, but I really like our chances to pummel the Black Bears.

FYI, Campus Insiders has an app available on the new Apple TV store. Search for it. It is free. It will directly play all of the telecast, without the need for streaming from your device. Great picture quality, as well.

Nice to see interest picking up for tomorrow's game. I hope to see: 1. balanced team play 2. strong defense (of course) 3. better FT shooting 4. perhaps a big spread and some minutes for those who have not yet seen much time. Too much?
