There are many reasons this year's team has found success and Flanagan is right up there - and as usual with our recruits, she seems like a very poised young lady who is happy to be at HC

I have very little concern Flanagan will enter the portal even though recent Holy Cross point guards Caleb Green, Drew Lowder, Joey Reilly, RJ Johnson and Kyrel Luc all did.
Nice article. Foreman is the other current freshman contributor but Cahalan shows promise after her cameo in the last game. A great way for coach to get her in and build her confidence with four points in two minutes.

I believe that there is at least one major difference between those players you mention and Flanny. Terrific article. Thanks for posting.

Excellent article. Well written. I think MM nailed it--Flanagan is a once or twice type of player in a coaching career. She's a winner. She can lead and never makes it about herself. If the staff can land a shooter, we will be a very balanced team for the near future.

There is much to like about this freshman class.

No, I found it noteworthy that there is little concern which should be normal but hasn’t been lately in some sports at HC when we get an impact freshman. Coaches Chesney and Magarity recruit good student athletes and then provide a quality program to keep them. Foreman is ahead of Cahalan but the article mentioned Cahalan as a contributor.

The City of Basketball Love is Philly Centric site for basketball. Since Meg and Mary Elizabeth are freshmen from South Jersey, that may be reason for the focus for the inclusion in the article. Also of note, on the Basketball Love website, under D1 College, a complete picture of Kaitlyn taking the shot has Mary Elizabeth and Meg in the background on the bench. Simone was on the floor during that play. Simone Foreman may have been excluded from being mentioned in the article, since she is from the Maryland. Next year, the HC SID office could highlight the two Simone’s, Foreman and Lewis, for publications reporting on DMV athletes, as well as the two HC teammates from St. John Vianney for publications focused on South Jersey and Philly. While Linsey Berger is from Orefield PA, she is from the Lehigh Valley as well as being a Sophomore. Just my hunch regarding article focus.

What on earth does the Department of Motor Vehicles have to do with women's basketball? Oh, you mean Delaware, Maryland, Virginia? Too, too, too many abbreviations and acronyms on Crossports.

No, I remember all that. Hence the emoji. I also used to travel to Delaware, Maryland & Virginia where I first heard that acronym. As you know, anything west of the Hudson River hardly counts for "real" New Yorkers nor south of Staten Island, and maybe not even that far south. [no one be offended, I'm joking!] Just for balance, when I traveled into the deep south, people there thought Virginia was a northern state. My father considered himself a "southerner" since he was born in Baltimore and being south of the Mason-Dixon line, he thought he qualified. And when we moved to Ohio my parents though we fell off the edge of the earth. Everything is relative.

DMV -DC, Md, and Va were great targets for us in terms of student athletes, especially from the WCAC, the IAC, and the other private schools. George and Milan recruited well in this area, as did Rick Carter and Duffner
Imho The former Admissions team did precious little to sell HC to the students in this area, and that didn’t help. Will see if this changes in the future
