The carousel begins a little earlier than most seasons -- well, kind of -- as Ray Giacoletti has resigned from his post at Drake.

Did Not give him much of a chance Other issues ? 1. Terrible results 2. Defection of 13 scholarship players in less than three years. 3. Ongoing academic fraud investigation that led to his brother being pushed out the door last summer.

Another coach who may find himself on the hot seat sooner rather than later is Jimmy Patsos at Siena. Apparently, there's some internal turmoil. Losing five of six and being 1-2 in the MAAC after a second place preseason selection probably doesn't help matters.
This is what happens when you hire a recruiter to be your coach.

I think he has quite a hefty buyout, I think he gets another season but we will see.

I think he has quite a hefty buyout, I think he gets another season but we will see. Based on the Siena and MAAC boards, it is apparently unclear how much his buyout would be. They foolishly gave him a major contract extension last April that takes him through the 2020-21 season, but no-one believes most of that money is guaranteed. He has a roster with four senior 1000-point scorers on it, plus one of the MAAC's top freshman from last year, and yet the team is playing poorly. Also has major team dissension plus a number of suspensions and disciplinary actions this year. In addition, this year's recruiting class appears to be weak. Patsos has always been a nut case who was able to recruit but turned his programs into a circus. The program is still a circus, but now his recruiting has become suspect as well. Much of the Siena fan base appears to want him gone.

Yeah, after they lost to BC, they beat Duke and a couple of others..seemingly had righted the ship....then went down in flames the last couple weeks.

May our old friend Tom Moore be on the move? Third straight season he's failed to go above .500 at Quinnipiac.
The Howard coaching situation is one to keep an eye on, as well.

Moore was my HS classmate at SJ. Good guy but not doing much.
Kellogg is under tremendous heat may be blown out at UMass too unless AD Bamford thinks he wants to launch Whipple after this fall FB season and can't afford to eat 2 deals.

The Howard coaching situation is one to keep an eye on, as well. Picked pre-season to win the MEAC, the Bison finished 12th and got knocked out in the opening round of the tournament to finish 8-23. MEAC schools are pretty patient and forgiving, but this is Kevin Nickelberry's sixth 20+ loss season in his seven years there. And as we all know, there's a Howard alum who would probably love to get another shot as a head coach . . ..

A-10 update on coaches:
My guess is that Jim Ferry at Duquesne might very well be out of a job soon. The Dukes are 10-21 after having lost 13 of their last 14 games. There is also some speculation that Derek Kellogg might be in trouble. The Minutemen (14-17) started off their season ok but things have gone south in league play as they have lost 10 of their last 12. GW will have an interesting choice to make as they must make a decision on interim coach Maurice Joseph who led to the Colonials to an 18-13 record despite difficult circumstances following the late dismissal of Mike Lonergan.
