Well done by both parties I hope Kit values men’s basketball as highly and makes a similar commitment to a Chesney-like coach

LOVE this! Hope CAF is really having an impact. Wonder what the buy-out is! "Ok we will let you go but only to a huge FBS school that can pay your $1 million buy-out?" Just kidding, I am very excited. Congrats to Kit and Ches and all of you for supporting the program.

Man we really lucked out when we got Chesney. I thought it was going to take 20 years to bounce back from Gilmore.

Fantastic to hear that we are doing so much to retain this phenomenal coach.

Outstanding job by Kit & Holy Cross administration !!! Coach Chesney must be thrilled and looking forward to many Crusader victories on and off the field...... This should solidify our football program, but also will pay dividends to other sports. Winners want to play for winners......
We must continue to support Chesney and his program to insure future Holy Cross success. He gets it and it will trickle down thru the other athletic teams. Great day to be a Crusader !!

Just read it. Great move. I believe Kit has taken care of our assistants as well, though that doesn't make the headline news. Knowing how BC values his assistants and believe Kit does as well, I am sure no one wants to lose the momentum of the program. Kudos to all involved!

Just to amend the thread title: the contract ends 1/31/28, so it's really through the 2027 season.... obviously it's important to include January in the contract so he's not a free agent while we're in Frisco for the FCS title game.

Trickle down, Ideally true. Realistically, almost every other HC sport, male and female, continues to fail. Some, including men’s hoops, dismal failures.

HOLY CROSS, CHESNEY AGREE TO RESTRUCTURED DEAL THROUGH 2028
Good news.
I guess we won’t find out what is specifically cloaked in the word ‘restructuring’.
And I have to wonder what the immediate impetus for this was, considering he signed the current 5-year contract (a year early as I recall) just 11 months ago following a successful season. And shortly after a Delaware opening.
I’m not implying we’ll ever know the back story but dollars to donuts there is one.

Probably a question for PP or finance types on the board
What would be the cost of say 8-10 suites to be put in and what could we charge per box
Might get us 6 home games per year and pay for the extension
after 2027 the staff gets 60% of the revenue 30% to Chesney and the remainder equally divided among assistants

Timeline of restructuring is similar to the previous five year extension which was signed in 2022, possibly a year longer, but the terms and dollar amounts could have been restructured. In whose favor? (my answer is everybody's) Which party has the stronger bargaining position? Coach Chesney has. So restructures probably favor him and his vision for the program. Well earned.
I like that Kit is quick to commit money to lock in his winning coaches (both of them🙂) and more deliberate in buying out losing coaches. I thought he committed earlier than necessary to extending Coach Magarity but her current 16-4 record has proved me wrong.

If you add the suites in the top 10 rows how would a flood zone be an issue-a question from a true novice in this space I think that specific addition would trigger the ADA. How would you get a wheel chair up to the luxury suites? Possibly building a club behind the west endzone or into the stands behind the large east endzone like the Krafts did at Gillette Stadium would involve the flood zone, at least as I understand Phreek's posts.

Would a move in this direction require adjustments for the stadium. Which I would support, or is it limited to the box access
