I had most of the EA Sports games between 2003 and 2006. To my memory Holy Cross wasn't actually in any of those games -- you would've had to create HC. For whatever reason, the Patriot League wasn't included amongst the I-AA conferences featured in any of those games. I used to play as William & Mary and remember their stadium looked semi-close to accurate as did Harvard and Yale. The first couple versions that added limited I-AA teams included the Ivies and HBCU only. Then by '04 or '05 I remember they added I believe the Gateway, A-10, Big Sky, SoCon and Southland teams. Was too early for the Dakotas to have been incorporated as they were just moving up at that time -- so no Fargo Dome. I remember playing with Holy Cross basketball in the NCAA hoops games in the mid-to-late 2000's. One night we played a HC-Bucknell game and my hallmate scored 75 points with John Griffin, the PG from Bucknell back then. I remember he messaged John on Facebook to tell him the story and he responded back super excited about his virtual performance. Freshman year we would've been playing with the 05-06 Crusader roster. I seem to remember Kevin Hyland was an absolute monster in the video game as was Kevin Hamilton...and Keith Simmons was very good, but believe it or not it was almost impossible to get him to be able to dunk. Glory days of video games. Kids today don't know what they're missing. I had an HC roster with something like D ratings and took them to an Orange Bowl before building up a dynasty and moving to the ACC from D-1 Indy. My RA who was an '09 played as HC all the time on those hoops games. One thing I forget is if all coaches were included in the game. Flannery would have been a sight to behold. I keep in frequent touch w 2 guys from 09 who were RAs. Garrett Nolan (who transferred to USC) and Ray Provo. By any chance were either of them your RA? Dont think they had coaches, even the big names like Coach K or Pitino. I dropped 50 with Adam May in the 2K10 game against Kentucky. Maybe my biggest accomplishment.

I remember the press box as cold and "windy" - and damp in rain or snow with minimal counter space for work. It did look a bit like someone hauled an old railroad car and put it on top of some telephone poles. I have never been to a high school press box that looked as bad as the HC box I remember.

Get specific to help us understand. What is intolerable? I'll have empathy for your burden if I know what it is and can relate to it. Thanks. First of all, my equipment bag weighs over 40 pounds. Here is a typical football game day for me... I get to the game 2 hours before the game, set up my computer, card readers, check in with the SID that I am working for, grab some food if they even have it. An hour before the game, I go down to the field to grab some pregame images of players for social media. Stay there for 15 minutes or so, head back to the press box and edit my images and send them over to the SID I am working for. 20-30 minutes before the game, I go back to the field for the pregame/first half. At halftime, I head up to the press box and usually would cross the coaches that are sitting upstairs. (I think at HC they sit on the other side of the field). Head back to the field for the second half with five or so minutes on the clock and shoot the second half. After the game is over go back to the press box to do another edit of the second half and pack up my stuff to head home. The last time I was at HC, there was not even enough room in the press box for me to pack up my bag at the end of the game. At Dartmouth for example, there is an elevator right behind the Dartmouth bench that goes directly to the press box. Harvard is impossible to even get to the press box without having a heart attack. Holy Cross you have to go against the grain to even get to the press box at halftime or end of game. Many schools have field level work rooms like Boston College and UConn slightly off the field to quickly upload images at halftime. It is even much easier to work at Central Conn. or New Haven. Now I don't need as much to the press box as I can use my phone to grab images off of my camera but it is still better to edit on a computer and if it is a bad weather game, it is nearly impossible to use your phone to edit.

Here is another question, what happens when/if there is someone that is handicapped that is a working member of the media?

Hopefully PVR will be unveiling the new Campus Master Plan this afternoon at the 4:00 PM meeting. Has there been a leaks regarding the presentation? Or does HC has its own plumbers to ensure information is not leaching from Mahogany Row and embargoed before it’s time.😊 There was no reveal. No leaks. Maybe tomorrow's public release will provide details. Only specific goal was to double the value of the endowment, presumably in ten years rather than five. Doubling in five would be heroic without a very generous donor.

The alumni base is getting older by the minute and I am sure the Estate Planning team is growing in size and more active than ever. With that and Foundation matches I bet it happens

ADA-Wheelchair access is available on the I290 side. There is a ramp leading up to a platform just above the Welcome to Fitton Field Sign.

Get specific to help us understand. What is intolerable? I'll have empathy for your burden if I know what it is and can relate to it. Thanks. First of all there is no climate control, aka heat. Second, it's two rows/levels. The top is about three to four feet higher than the back row. Just stay in the front row? Sure but pray you don't have to use the bathroom which is on row two. Third, the internet/wifi is spotty at best during games. Oh yeah and fourth, if you have trouble walking stairs you'll need a sherpa to get to it. Sure, stick a disabled press person on the other side, outside in the elements. Far from the press box where vital information for media members is handed out. The football stadium is the front door of the campus. From 290 it looks great. When you take a closer look....it is subpar in many ways. Please take a walk up there next game in November. When it may be sunny and 'warm' outside. It's probably 20 degrees colder in that shed that's called a press box. You'll change your mind quick.

No. If a member of the press is handicapped and needs wheelchair access, he or she should contact Kit for a space in the AD’s box which has elevator access. No question that there is a need for an elevator and ramp access to a press box at Fitton.

Just stop accepting any jobs that would take you to Fitton Field: no more inconvenience, no more whining As much as I get annoyed by the person in question, something that's been obsolete as long as the Fitton press box has been obsolete is fair game for criticism. For goodness sakes, the second dressing room (one room, which isn't fantastic, but at least an effort was made; was built more or less concurrent w/Carter's arrival) and the press box should have been addressed when the stadium was rebuilt in 1986. A couple less rows on the top all around probably would have covered the cost. Brooks was more than stubborn when it came to these issues.

Now that Chesney is so call locked in for the immediate future. Lets try to figure out whats the best ROI for recruiting long term.
What does NDSU offer their athletes that we currently don't??
Looking online at their facilities a few things jump out at you. They have a really nice locker room compared to most in the FCS. Players spend a ton of time in the locker room since its one of the few places where they can relax on campus without the rest of the student body bothering them. Next they have a dedicated training table and nutritionist on staff to help them get as big and strong as they can. This is a must if you want to stay competitive in Division 1 football consistently year after year.
Chesney will leave at some point in time, need to prepare to have our facilities top notch to keep these recruits coming in. NDSU has proven if you win they will come, difference is for HC to steal those recruits between schools we need these 2 things immediately.
That being said, if we pack the stadium consistently with a winner that plays for a National Championship year after year. It makes it easier for the school to fund stadium remodel when the seats are full and the fans are spending money.

I guess things have changed. I don't recall our athletes having to escape from the rest of the student body to relax during my time. I follow the rest of your recommendations.

Not sure I buy into the premise that we're competing or should be competing for the same student-athletes as NDSU or SDSU or Sac State or Incarnate Word.
As Bob Chesney has said frequently, coming to Holy Cross a football player "can have it all." Specifically, the education and the alumni network is not in the same ballpark as any of those other top FCS football schools.
We're comparing apples and oranges here. A player who wants to go to those other schools won't even look at Holy Cross and vice versa IMO.
