I finally got around to completing and submitting my survey early this morning, and my response echoed much of what's been outlined above. Why would the HC fans want to cram into the Visitors' side? To be seated at the goal-line about fifteen rows up? To stare across the field at a section of the stadium that could sit 10,000 people, but is occupied by 400? This makes no sense. Why not put the primary TV cameras on the Visitors' side to provide a better view of the crowd for our at-home viewers? This seems like a relatively easy (and inexpensive) fix. Is the sideline depth the same on each side? If so, I'd be more amenable to having the teams switch sides. This way, our guys can see the magnitude of their supporting crowd and better hear and see crowd reactions, and the folks on the campus side can mercilessly mock and heckle the visiting players! The piece of this that absolutely won't work, however, is having our cheerleaders, etc. on the side with the visiting team. As such, we return to the move the TV cameras solution. This doesn't seem that complicated. Sideline depth is HORRIBLE at Holy Cross. It is one of the reasons why Men's Lacrosse is not played at Fitton. We understand what must clearly be your motto bfoley.
