I know people don't like Geno but he's a really good coach. He doesn't have a clear talent advantage over the other top teams this year but he's still got his team at 8-0 after tonight's 11-point win over #2 Notre Dame in South Bend. They have already beaten the current #2, 3 and 7 teams in the country. And they appear to be getting better. And they have a very strong class coming in next year. If they win it all this year, the other teams may have to wait until Geno retires to win another national championship.

And in addition to the great incoming class, they will, also add 6-6 transfer wing Azura Stevens, who was an All-American at Duke as a sophomore. Will also add a good PF who transferred from the train wreck at Kentucky. Next year's team should be as talented as any that UConn has had.

I saw the thread titled "UCONN" and thought that meant the next HC women's opponent were the Huskies. Would have been a bigger rout than the Indians vs Custer.

True tactically, BUT, in the long run, the Indians lost.

What's their streak now? 83 in a row? 84? Unbelievable.

Two of their next three are tough. Ohio St (#12/13) in Hartford and at Maryland (#3/4). If they get through those two, they would have almost no chance of losing before the Elite Eight. .

You missed one. They play #6 South Carolina, who many believe will end up in the top three, on February 13th. That is definitely a game they could lose - especially given how short the UConn bench is. Answering the earlier question, the streak currently stands at 84, getting close to UConn's record of 90. Their last loss was the opening game of the 2014-15 season at Stanford, which they lost in OT after Stanford tied it with a three just before the buzzer. Had that shot missed, UConn' streak would now be 130 in a row. UConn's ooc schedule includes 6 of the top 10 - and a bunch more from the next ten. It is the toughest ooc schedule by far. Geno basically will play anyone anywhere - and yet they keep winning.

Anywhere? Does he play that many away games? Geno will gladly play a home-and-home with any good program. They have six away games this year, plus one neutral site game. Play Florida State, Maryland, Notre Dame, Kansas State, Nebraska, and LSU in their buildings. Last year played top ten teams Stanford, Baylor, Ohio State, and South Carolina on the road, plus some other good programs.

This could be like the years in the UCLA dynasty between Alcindor and Walton where they "only" had Sydney Wicks and Curtis Rowe.

This could be like the years in the UCLA dynasty between Alcindor and Walton where they "only" had Sydney Wicks and Curtis Rowe. Good analogy. And UCLA also had PG Henry Bibby and center Steve Patterson, who were both strong players. Similarly, UConn doesn't have the stars they had last year - but they have four of the better players in the country. One will be 1st team All-American and two more should get some level of AA.

BG said on the coaches show that we play UConn season after next and will play them every several years. Geno spoke well of HC in his autobiography, which I recommend.

70 - 48 at the end of the third quarter! UConn of course.
