Recruiting never sleeps.
It looks like Coach Barnes has been pretty active on getting kids up to campus for the Junior Day events. I've seen him retweet a bunch of tweets from players indicating they will be on campus in March.
Offers will probably start coming out in late March, but why not start a new thread. As midwest says - ABR. Always Be Recruiting.

So we prob have another month before many offers start. After the three Jr Days. April, May and June are big months for offers.
July usually a month where they start focusing on specific positions after they see who they are close on as of July 4th.
Using Will Janis as the line in the sand - offer at end of June - HC landed 15 of their first 138 offers. Hit rate of about 11% which is prob where they should be. I didn’t count Dippre or Biel.
And their hit rate on their first 20 offers was excellent.
This is kind of how it works. About a 10% hit rate. You can’t sign what you don’t offer.

Known positions of need to start this class: DB (again - losing at least 5/6), OL (losing prob 4/5), RB (losing prob 3)

Hoping we’re replacing the graduating guys in the class before they graduate. For example, we signed 10 DBs this year. Assuming those are the guys who will fill in for the 5/6 who depart after next season. With a few notable exceptions, the Frosh are generally not going to step in and be ready to play high-level FCS football so the replacements need to overlap with those they’ll be replacing. The portal hopefully helps fill the immediate needs as they come up.

Actually we replaced the 8 who just left with 10. So +2. If 6 more leave maybe you only take 4 new in this class. That said - the one part we don’t know is how many players do they want on their roster. Will it stay north of 100?

Anyone else? I also see RBs Forrest, Purdy and Ezema moving on, leaving Fuller, Slade, Rivers and incoming recruits JC and Laube remaining after next season.

Hanson won't have a choice regarding a 6th year at HC. Same with McMurtie. I agree on Daddona, and Pacific. Other two who we don't know about yet are Newman and Schon - regarding their future decision. I would expect Kelly and McCaulay back, but who knows.
Purdy, Forrest have to move on. I agree on Ezema moving on. Yes, I see those 5 RBs being in stable after this coming year.
DBs - Molton, Kriemer, Haskins, Kelly have to move on. I'd expect Rorke, possibly Raiger, possibly Scott to move on. We shall see.

So I won't go through the several hundred kids we invited to a junior day, but some kids started posting some letters we've sent them. May be worth keeping an eye out for potential 2024 offers.

I can’t even with the 2024 recruiting. I’m going to try to focus until we have a hoops coach and then take a nice nap until August.

Any relation to the genuine Jon Morris? If there is, probably a grandson? Says he has eight offers, I found only six, but I didn't go back to last fall. The six: Lehigh, Monmouth, Stony Brook, UConn, URI, Cornell. The HC coaches subsequently sent him a lot of mail.

Jon Morris was a big time football player. Had the privilege of watching him play in my freshman year, his senior year, '63. Remember hearing a thunderous tackle by Morris. The 15,000 + in the stands at Fitton were stunned. Have there been other truly big time players since his days at HC? Morris played his college position with the Patriots over a long very successful career in the AFL. Certainly he is on my list as the best HC player I have seen over the past 60 years. Gordie, too.

I noticed the same thing. He’s visited both HC and Villanova recently so I wonder if there was an agreement in principle that an offer is coming, just not public yet. Very good player. Edit* Penn and Colombia offered last summer when he was on campus.
