I think Kit might have already hinted to Nelson what’s coming… A wish, or there is evidence ? Me wishing.

Gerrale 26 pts, 10 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 blocks 40, FORTY minutes. Nelson gave him no rest. What a disgrace. Not even to get an ovation on Senior Day? Is there anything BN does right?

A wish, or there is evidence ? Will Batchelder played 22 minutes. Jade Tse played 18 minutes, including most of the way down the stretch, Batch on the bench, as we fell further behind.

I miss going to games. Haven’t gone to a HC b-ball game in a few years now. I’ll return when I see a football-like commitment to winning.

Nelson will have to win two games in the PLT in order to reach double digit wins for the first time in four seasons.

BU beats Lehigh. We are a loss to Army and a Loyola win against American from going on the road in the play-in round. (Could hear you rooting for Loyola as I read this)

But to firing Nelson and moving forward from his dumpster fire tenure.

It has been 14 years since it was actually enjoyable to watch a season of Holy Cross basketball. Just absolutely brutal. I know you said "season" but I won't soon forget the most "enjoyable" week and end of the 2016 season! Have to hang on to something positive!!!

But realistically HC will commit to winning with a generous guaranteed multi year contract to a new coach but have it's hands tied for the next few years. There aren't too many other variables the school can control. Scholarships are maxed, facilities are fixed and have recently received an expensive upgrade (Luth Center), league is fixed, AI is fixed, no grad school to entice grad transfers is fixed, number of assistant coaches is maxed, etc. It all comes down to Kit's choice. OOC schedule isn’t fixed. That's one variable that could be upgraded to show commitment. Budgeting some type of stipend for band members to entice band participation at each home game would be another way to show commitment. Funding international scouting and recruiting trips would be another way.

I believe Army is now officially our most played "rival" in MBB. After 31 years of PL play, they've passed BC and PC. Used to play BC twice a year. Now once a decade? Al Skinner, BC's once-upon-a-time b'ball coach, was once quoted as saying he was tired of the "annual rock fight" against HC. There are really no reasons why there shouldn't be one HC-BC b'ball game each year...except that BC may fear the occasional upset. It's also likely that the storied HC-BC athletics rivalry has largely seeped out of the gene pool at both schools...although the occasional resurrection of the football game may faintly indicate otherwise.

BTW....I checked, BC is still our most played opponent at 113 (we still lead 58-55). Sort of surprised at a couple others. Dartmouth is 2nd at 99 games. Army is 3rd at 97. ETA" actually I guess Army is now tied with Dartmouth if you include the 2 games this season. Was it just one year or a bit of tradition that the BB opener against Dartmouth would be on the Saturday night of the BC football game. I remember 3 games vs the Green that were openers. One was up there day of the BC game, being the mgr I took the trip and skipped the football game (41-10 BC, so I guess no great loss in that regard). George's first game, we lost and it kind of set the tone for that season. Next year, the game was on the Friday night before the BC game. HC won big. Then in 78, the Thursday before the BC game. Up there. Lost. Shouldn't have, Dartmouth sucked and we were still pretty good.

No possibility for a job saving run to the finals. None.

Nelson not taking Gerrale out of the game and depriving our best player - and the fans - of the benefit of a standing ovation is the single worst thing he's done in his disastrous regime.

I was at the game and Batch had one of his worst games of the year! He did not play well on both ends, defense /offense. He had 2 points for the game. But he is a Freshman!!! He's learning!!! I really don't like the way HCBN yells/screams at the players when they make mistakes... Put them on the bench and the options are limited... Granted I did not think of it at the time but agree with Crosser and sader1998 who originally said it was a mistake not to take GG out of the game to get a well deserved Standing Ovation for what he has done during his time at HC!!! Shame on HCBN and the Staff for not doing this!!! He most certainly deserved it!!! Time to clean house and hopefully this 4 year nightmare will come to an end as we begin to bring HCBB back to where it belongs!!! Using Patriot head Coach Bill B's language "ADKH .... DO YOUR JOB"!!!

Totally agree, John. When I made my post I thought I was quoting Sadler 1998, but I now see I mistakenly quoted WorcesterGray’s just below his. Terrible dick-ish move by Nelson to Geralle, and disrespecting Batch like he did was almost as bad.

Not letting DJ Hart sniff the floor once in his last game.....not letting someone who probably will end up being the best player in his collegiate head coaching career come out at the end (with all of GG's family on hand who made the trip from NC).....goodbye

Being in college coaching nearly 20 years, he's got to know. In addition to everything else, he's a horrible game coach. Yesterday, I knew exactly when the game was in danger of going south, and he did not. Went from 43-46 to 45-55, no time out in that span. Instead, he's consistently saved to's for spots where taking one makes no sense whatsoever. And, could anyone figure this one out? He's got Tse and Kenney in there coming off a time out, it's HC's ball. Well, ok if they're the guys you want in there for the next few minutes BUT......as HC's bringing the ball up he has Batch and someone else running up to the scorer's table. It was OUR BALL and your weakest offensive group is out there. Of course HC doesn't score that time up.

I feel I am as patient as just about anyone, but even putting aside the classless stuff, let's face it - in order to keep things from sinking even lower (never mind getting better), they will need immediate impact newcomers not just for next year, but for 2024-25 as well. And how likely is that to happen if CBN is retained.
He did indeed get the gig during a challenging period, but in the end something did not work. Yes, players leave more than ever before, but no other PL school has had the constant exodus of players that HC has experienced; not even Nathan Davis has had that happen. At the end of the day the buck stops in the head coach's office.
I think about GG and Batch yesterday (and how they were coached), and it's unbelievable to me: if those guys had quit instead of Lewis and Wilbar, CBN might very well have piloted the team to the first 0-18 season in PL history.
Root for the playersTuesday - winning the game won't play into any decisions made after the season ends.
