We are officially eliminated from the PenFed Credit Union Patriot League Championship. But not before ten of us joined the military to get a great rate on an auto loan.🙂

Thanks to Gerrale Gates for giving us everything he had tonight and every night in a Crusader uniform. Best wishes to him in all that he does going forward.

There is someone I hope might come home to HC some day as a coach. Meanwhile...many thanks GG for your constant and untiring effort.

Happy for Gates, all things considered.
He used his basketball skills to transfer to a much better school and received a world class education. He might be able to play professionally for a few years if he wishes. And he will join the HC alumni club (a very good one) in a few months.
Besides that, seems like a humble and hard working kind of guy.
Best wishes to him.

GG an absolute warrior. Would have loved to see the season if we were healthy with Louth. Maybe not a big difference but something to ponder. Hope Batch doesn’t transfer but wouldn’t be surprised.

Disappointing end to a disappointing season.
Unfortunately the team could not put two good haves together tonight. Still cannot fathom how they could look so flat in the first period and put together a respectable game in the second period.
If Louth and Rabs had been healthy this season, most likely we would not have had to play a game tonight. Hope the players continue to refine their skills for next season, a strong summer coaching program.
Most importantly, let’s hope that Joe O is ok.

Are Loyola players, fans, and announcers over celebrating? I had that complaint about them last week considerably more than tonight.

Black uniforms are awful!!!!!!!!!! I knew we were doubly screwed when I saw we had them on.

Road Warrior HC70 is at the game! Reports that Silver Fox is there.... (thought they flew to AU and Loyola)... Sitting first row behind HC bench, gray sweater and purple skull cap!!! Way to go HC70!!! Seeing as they had to factor in the possibility of winning and going straight to Colgate, bus was probably a better choice.

Are Loyola players, fans, and announcers over celebrating? Man, that's funny that you mention that. When they beat us Saturday, they acted like they'd won an NCAA game. I thought it was a bit much. But, I guess they haven't won a lot this year, so they celebrate when they can...

The whole play-in arrangement is a by-product of the expansion to ten teams by adding Loyola and BU to the PL. I liked the symmetry of the Octagonal league.

It's funny - I had the pleasure of meeting his grandmother at the Army game, and I made a point to tell her how you all would take him under your collective wing after he graduated. She smiled. He may explore playing overseas, from what I was told.

On the ESPN feed, it certainly looked like a decent-sized and energetic crowd. Not bad for a PL pillow-fight IMO. Maybe the lax team knocking off #1 Maryland has invigorated the sports fan base? Or maybe they had a free pizza promotion. My wife is a Loyola alum and said that was the only reason students went to games back then -- and they were actually a pretty good team in the MAAC when she was there (2005-2009). They ended up making the tournament in 2012, right before they came over to the Lehigh Valley Conference.
Attendance was listed at 1,047. Sad to say, but not bad compared to their regular season average and overall not horrible for a Tuesday night pillow-fight. And it looked pretty partisan, didn't see much purple at all in the crowd -- maybe our section was on the camera side.

Not hard to understand why there wasn’t much purple in the crowd. The level of apathy around the program is at a record high for good reason. Hopefully that starts to change in the next few weeks with the announcement of our new coach.

The whole play-in arrangement is a by-product of the expansion to ten teams by adding Loyola and BU to the PL. I liked the symmetry of the Octagonal league. 1. I wouldn't mind going forward if the bottom two teams were told to start their vacation early and it went back to 3 rounds max; considering they can't erase our miracle run 7 years ago. 2. Why wasn't #4 given a flagrant foul for undercutting Joe O? I don't think it was deliberate; perhaps "accidentally on purpose"; but, regardless, a bad play that caused injury.

I wondered the same thing. Hard to believe after that first half, but that cheap shot (even. if an accident) may have cost HC a win.
