Greg Herenda’s FDU gets the first tik by winning one NEC semi. The other winner, Merrimack, is ineligible . Thus FDU dances.

That's nice for FDU, but Herenda isn't the coach there anymore.

FDU fired Herenda over a year ago (IIRC). Their current coach (Tobin Anderson) signed in Mat of 2022 after 12 years at St Thomas Aquinas (Division 2).

Tobin Anderson, FDU’s coach, a trendy name in coaching candidate circles these days.

The coaching fraternity frowns (and makes faces) at Schools who fire their coach after one season. Do they give the cold shoulder to a coach who leaves his school after one season? Or give him an "atta boy"?

5 seed Southeast Missouri State beat the 8, 4, 1 and 2 seeds on 4 consecutive nights to win the OVC. Last night’s final game was a classic. SEMO was down 1 and got fouled shooting a 3 with a couple of seconds left. Made all of them to go up 2. Tenn Tech threw the inbounds pass all the way to the top of the key. Player caught, spun and shot. Made it. Originally called a three for the win. Upon review, foot was on the line. Tie game at end of regulation. SEMO wins in OT.

Elon's done, had a bad year (12th out of 13 in the CAA).
NU's out as well, as is Charleston Southern, Wisconsin Green Bay and Pacific.
St Bona starts the a10 at #9 seed.
The best chance for our formers to advance is Cleveland State, #3 and playing #2 Milwaukee tomorrow in the Horizon semifinals.

#7 Campbell up 3 at the half over #1 UNC Asheville in Big South championship. Why do I care? My niece, who came to many HC games with me, is in her last year med school at Campbell and treated a few of the athletes. Go Camels!

Campbell was founded in 1887 and are on only their fifth President. Father and son Campbells served as President from 1887 to 1967. Church related (Baptist) like Holy Cross, Campbell evolved from an Academy to a junior college to a college to a University to now having 6,000 students with a medical school, law school and Pharmacy School among others.

The Camels have survived a long drought since their only D-1 NCAA appearance in 1992.

Two points regarding UNC Asheville, RJ Evans coached there before HC and HC played UNC Asheville on December 22, 2002 at the Hart Center. It was Neil Fingleton’s first game for the Purple.

Wife and I were at that Asheville game. I wanted to see Neil play so we drove up from NJ and met a classmate and his son at the Hart. HC won easily. Neil was very good along with the rest of the team. UNC Asheville had no chance. Those were the days, my friend. We thought they’d never end.

I may be misremembering, but I think it was a home and home series with Asheville.

Hope the next coach can bring in a Center with the size and skills of Neil. I was also at the game to see the debut of Neil in a HC uniform.

When healthy and not in pain he was quite serviceable. His back health issue was the problem. At the intimidating height of 7’6”, just showing up and being able to play was enough.
God rest his soul.

Better than what we have seen recently in the last decade in a HC Uniform. Unfortunately his persistent injuries, particularly his back, limited his college career. IIRC Neil was a McDonald’s All American.

Watching the AU vs Lafayette game. Guess who is starting for The Leopards….. A 7 footer who should have been in Purple this year. 🤬 Hope he scores 20 plus this afternoon.
SMH, how HC took Wilbar instead of JVB. That alone shown malfeasance regarding recruitment assessment.
