(short as it has been to date), Or is Kit giving Nelson some time to work the phones and possibly identify a landing spot for himself, wherein it will be announced that he is leaving to pursue another opportunity.
No coach gets fired any more. In all of the announcements of coaches being "fired" so far this offseason, (short as it has been to date), the announcements are laced with euphemisms. "Leaving to pursue other opportunities", "Mutually parting", etc. I know the euphemisms fit in some instances but certainly not all.
That sounds an awful lot like, "you don't have to go home, but you can't stay here"
Men's hoops are done. Men's hockey is lowest seed still standing. (unless you can buy road tickets through website). I don't think football tickets are on sale yet. That only leaves one ticketed sport left
Some talk going around in the coaching community. Two of the assistant coaches are applying to get in the mix for the head coach position at Rhode Island College. The staff senses they are on the verge of being let go.
This is a logical move, but wouldn't our assistants be at a disadvantage to assistants from strong winning programs and Head Coaches from small private d-3 schools that don't have a State Pension and are less secure than a State school like Rhode Island College??
Nobody likes to take a step backwards in their career but wouldn't the resume of our assistants scare the heck out of an AD hiring a new head coach?
It's too bad for the assistants that there isn't a precise way to measure their contributions at Holy Cross.

Job pays $71000, so, less than you can make teaching high school history and coaching jv hoops.

"After several calls from Crossporters it was assumed the lines were crossed and the Athletic Department was getting calls for the French Department.😇"
Apparently there are two tickets for Moliere at Will Call for Thursday's game.
I'll go with: How would they even know if the phones weren't working? Probably someone picked up the phone to order lunch and realized there wasn't a dial tone.

Imagine a publicly traded company just having an awful year, and then when it comes time for the Q4 earnings call, the CEO just doesn’t show up. The shareholders are left there wondering what in the world is going on.
Kit, time to take some accountability here.

A current player reached out to me today, we have never spoken or exchanged any communication. He asked if we could have a conversation to provide some “insight” as to what he, and he alone is feeling.
What was discussed provides zero insight as to what might happen or the current state of moral etc., so I’ll share no details. I will say I was incredibly impressed with this young man, and I almost wished he didn’t reach out because now my anger has multiplied.
I’ll say it again, these kids are incredibly stressed as well as struggling with the idea that they are responsible for all of this. I am truly hoping that this phone call was an attempt of one individual showing some balls and reaching out to a loud mouth, and was in one way part of a larger “campaign” to gain empathy through the players.
These kids need HC people in their corner right now.
I believe you must have assured him that he has many here from different eras sympathetic to him and and his teammates, but outraged at the supposed grown ups in charge,
