Great game by the entire team. Foreman and BPC stood out the most but thought everyone who played did something to contribute to the win.

On to CBS Sports Network. Your crickets sports network. They don't cover Cricket, there's usually crickets for programming on. I get CBSSN now but it was a hassle in the past. I don't know if the PL factors in a disruption in access for some fans when they choose to abandon ESPN+ for the championship game, and if brief exposure on the last place cable sports network is worth it.

As in the American game, we just steadily steamrolled a very good Lehigh team into dust in the second half. BPC's takeover game, Simone's breakout.
Last two games . . .
1st half: HC, 61-53 (+8) 2nd half. HC, 83-45 (+38)
Offense now really clicking.

If HC wins, the first time two Crusader teams have played in an NCAA tournament in the same academic year since 2006/07 when both hoop squads went dancing?

In the two tournament games, Foreman is 9-13 FG, 5-5 FT, 6 R in 34m - and playing terrific defense, rotating responsibility as Magarity gave Allen, Berger, and Bronagh a few minutes off here and there.
She is going to be special.

Some stats: HC ahead in rebounds (42 - 34) HC ahead in ft shooting (89% - 67%) HC ahead in blocks (4 - 3) - all by BPC HC ahead in pts off turnovers (21 - 5) HC ahead in pts in paint (26 - 22) HC fewer turnovers (11 - 14) Easy comparison (and I could go on), but I am sure you get the point.

Foreman has been such a pleasant surprise during the 2nd half of the season - she’s strong and quicker than you’d think and has shown a really nice offensive skill set - she may start next season next to Flanagan in the backcourt One more big effort to go

Great game by the entire team. Foreman and BPC stood out the most but thought everyone who played did something to contribute to the win. Cross took Kramer out of the game, five boards, took charges, team-high 35 minutes. Classic glue player performance
Allen didn't shoot well, but 10 boards - 6 of them offensive to give us key extra possessions - 4 assists.
Berger six boards, team-high five assists.
Solid floor game by Flanagan.

It may be from looking through purple lenses, but every player looked totally confident throughout that second half - even thoxse on the bench. Sunday should be FUN...nerve wracking fun! Are there still posters out there who feel HC did not get a really good head coach in MM?

Are there still posters out there who feel HC did not get a really good head coach in MM? There's one, but this team's performance has shut him up in his darkroom.

Holy Cross, 12-34 FG in the first half, 16-30 in the second (and 7-7 FT).
Lehigh, 11-27 in the first half, 9-30 in the second.
Dominant at both ends during the final twenty.

CAA is worst with Flo Sports.
Entertaining, electric and intimidating atmosphere tonight in the Hart. The Lax and Rowing teams brought the heat tonight under the baskets to unsettle Lehigh in their sets.
A real shame that spring break was this week, as the cheer team, dance team and band were missing. However was happy to hear Purple Haze once again as the HC starting five were introduced.

BU must have been amazing in that OT. Army had nothing left. In fact, they ended up with several wide open looks in the last couple minutes of regulation and missed them all. Tied it up when one of their guys put up a difficult 3 but drew a foul.

Brett Nelson in attendance or is this something he can’t be bothered with tonight? If he was returning and if he was at the women's game, there'd be an equal number of people posting "why isn't his ass out recruiting?". Ya can't win. (of course, neither can he)

Our goal was to get to the championship': Holy Cross tops Lehigh, advances to PL women's basketball final
Jennifer Toland
Telegram & Gazette www.telegram.com/story/sports/college/2023/03/09/holy-cross-surges-past-lehigh-to-patriot-league-womens-hoop-title-game/69988656007/WORCESTER — The Holy Cross and Lehigh women’s basketball teams had two classic clashes during the regular season, and both teams, with a Patriot League Tournament championship berth on the line, prepared for another battle when they met again Thursday night in a PL semifinal at the Hart Center. “We knew we had to be locked in the whole time,” Holy Cross freshman guard Simone Foreman said. “No breaks, no letup. We had to be locked in.” Third-seeded Lehigh led by a point with 2:47 left in third quarter before the No. 2 seed Crusaders outscored the Mountain Hawks, 28-10, over the final 12:37 to claim a 71-54 victory. HC (23-8) will play at top seed Boston University in the final at noon Sunday. The winner earns the league’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. It will be the Crusaders’ first PL championship game appearance since 2013-14. “To get to a championship game is really, really hard,” Holy Cross coach Maureen Magarity said. “We want more, but it’s an amazing accomplishment. To celebrate this as a team, I’m so proud. Our goal was to get to the championship, and now it’s here.” HC was the only league team to beat BU this season. No. 5 seed Army took the Terriers to overtime in Thursday night’s other semifinal, but BU outscored the Black Knights, 16-0, in the extra period for the 84-68 victory. With 27 points and four blocks, Holy Cross junior Bronagh Power-Cassidy led the Crusaders’ inspired performance. Power-Cassidy matched up most of the night with Lehigh senior Frannie Hottinger, the Patriot League Player of the Year, and helped hold her to 12 points on 5-of-16 shooting. Hottinger, who came in averaging 20.6 points, scorched HC for 23 and 30 points in two regular-season meetings. The teams split those games, with HC roaring back from a 13-point deficit to win here, 66-64, and Lehigh beating the Crusaders, 76-74, in overtime on its home court. “It was a whole team effort,” Power-Cassidy said. “I was on her for a bit, and she’s an amazing player. The whole team as a collective had to work hard, and we got the job done.” The Crusaders limited junior Mackenzie Kramer, also a first-team PL selection who was averaging 17.7 points, to three points on 1-of-12 shooting. HC held the Mountain Hawks to seven points in the fourth quarter and 35% shooting for the game. “I thought our defense was incredible,” Magarity said. “We knew what we had to do coming into the game, but it’s easier said than done. This was one of the best defensive games I’ve ever had a team play. (Senior guard) Addie (Cross), sophomore forward Lindsay (Berger) and Bronagh were incredible, but it was a lot of people because we switched on the screens.” HC led, 30-29, at halftime, and Lehigh took its first lead on sophomore Kaylee Van Eps’ layup 1:19 into the third quarter. After that, there were seven lead changes over the next six minutes until Foreman and Power-Cassidy spurred a 12-0 HC run. “It was translating what we did on defense to offense,” Foreman said, “and getting the ball in the bucket.” Freshman Lily Faudre sank a 3 for Lehigh just before the third-quarter buzzer, and the Crusaders led, 55-47, heading to the fourth. Power-Cassidy opened the fourth-quarter scoring with a 3, and HC continued its momentum. “They are such a great team,” Power-Cassidy said. “They have so many weapons. We knew once we took the lead back, we had to be firing on all cylinders and had to continue to play great defense and play together. We were so together the whole game. Everyone was so locked in and focused. It was such a fun game to play.” Foreman finished with 15 points, two off her career high, and 12 of them coming in the third quarter. She provided a great spark off the bench in HC’s quarterfinal win over American on Monday. “Simone has had some incredible games this year where she comes in, and she’s on a mission,” Magarity said. “This was nothing new, but as a freshman to come in and do it in a semifinal game was remarkable. She changed the whole flow of the game, being much more aggressive getting to the rim, pushing the ball and coming hard off ball screens. I think it took a lot out of (Lehigh).” The Crusaders ride a five-game winning streak into the championship game. HC defeated BU, 57-53, in the regular-season finale. —Contact Jennifer Toland at jennifer.toland@telegram.com. Follow her on Twitter @jentolandtg.
