Thank you. I had not seen that and often turnabout is fair play. It is certainly different than seeing that behavior in isolation. Reese literally did Clark’s signature move back to her (the “now you see me now you don’t wave”). Literally no different than the SDSU sideline mocking our DBs wing flap after Davis trucked Spence. It’s Okay to not post on social media if you have little to no experience in something which leads to uninformed opinions. How many people posting on Twitter had never seen LSU or Iowa play till this weekend? Two bad ass women going at it and growing their sport, spare me The pearl clutching.

Caitlin Clark is a grown ass woman who told a Louisville player to “shut the f*ck up” last week. She can take care of herself.

"pearl clutching"? What the hell are you talking about?
Pointing to a ring finger is not a part of any "now you see me now you don't" move that I know of. I am sure Clark can take care of herself, are you? Is falling into obscene comments supposed to be a sign of her strength? When she said that, did she include an Asterisk in the word as you did?

Caitlin also performed “the “You can’t see me jester” during the Louisville game, as well as the “You can’t guard me, with her arms spread apart” and “her hand to her ear” looking for applause, several times during the tournament, as seen in the Louisville and South Carolina games. Who knows what was actually being said doing play, and at the foul line. Part of the competitive nature of the game to play “Jedi” mind games to get under the skin of your opponents and to affect their play on the court.
All in all, it was an exciting year in WBB, especially with the resurgence of the HC WBB with the first appearance in sixteen years in the NCAA’s. Looking forward to seeing their improvements and lessons learned from this year.

Should be No big deal or unusual seeing the ring finger pointing by a championship team. I have seen it done numerous times in high school and college competitions. Of course when it is done in your opponents face, it could be seen as taunting, but throughout the tournament there has been a lot of trash talking. Glad the players were not miked. The nuns from grammar school would have been appalled 😱.
IIRC, our football team did it this year with four fingers after clinching the title. Hope to see them do it with five fingers in the 2023 season.
Take a look at the entire HC football team at the nine second mark in the video, with four fingers, indicating four rings and PL championships.

I was rooting for Iowa the whole tourney. It was LSU's superior play which was the decider. Hat's off to them. All the other stuff is just noise.

I agree that Reese pointing to her ring finger (in Clark's face) was indeed classless. I was both shocked and disappointed by her behavior. This is text book Pearl clutching. This really shocked and disappointed you?

Looking forward to seeing their improvements and lessons learned from this year. Our next door neighbors are both Iowa Grads and they turned us onto Clark at the beginning of the 2021/22 season. I’ve watched at least a dozen Iowa games and been to one. Caitlin Clark is an absolute joy to watch. However, much like Christian Laettner in his day, she can dish the trash talking, gestures etc as good as she can take it.

She received a tech for tossing the ball away- absurd. A tech counts as a personal. If these are the three best officials, the women’s game is in sad shape, refs wise. Maybe the rule to have women only ref the final four should be rethought. Maj Forsberg is the best ref in the women’s game. I think she worked the LSU semifinal game.

Wonder who will win……if you had an HC competition between Cara McCormack and Will Batchelder?
At an open practice session to kick off next season, it should be a half time contest.

I don’t like the showboating and/or taunting when anyone does it in any sport. I don’t like the stupid arm flapping thing we do in football. I didn’t like when SDSU did it back to us when the game was won. I didn’t like when Caitlin Clark waved her hand at the South Carolina player like she didn’t have to guard her. I didn’t like the John Cena thing. I didn’t like Reese’s act at the end of last night’s game. Just play. Have some respect for your opponent, play as hard and as tough as you can, shake hands after the game. I am probably more sensitive to it than others because of how many youth sports I coach. The stuff I see in some of these games with young kids and their parents makes me sick. But that’s where we are.

Including fees, the cheapest you can get two tickets for to today’s women’s title game on StubHub is $870 ($435 each). That is amazing. The Clark hype is real. Just hope they don’t use this to try to move it to a football stadium in the future. So much better in a basketball arena. On TV Saturday, I thought the court looked like a bowling alley, something about the main camera(s) positions that made it look narrow. I've noticed that a few other times when basketball is played at Jerry World, the Superdome, etc. The cameras are either not at the optimal height or the optimal distance back (or both).

Maybe the rule to have women only ref the final four should be rethought. Have the best officials ref the game. Novel concept. ESPN's ticker on Friday said this was the first Final Four with an entire crew (9) of women officials. I'd be interested in seeing if those 9 (or 12, maybe, assuming the backups were women too) were ranked 1-9 overall. In any event, they had poor control of the game. LSU coach's antics were excessive to say the least.

Yes, I'd say as much as I hated the officiating crew yesterday, they couldn't have won the game for Iowa if they tried. Yes, Iowa’s 7th loss so they were definitely beatable. At the same time the refs were suckered by a blatant LSU flopperoo v Clark and you’d think they’d be extra careful. Add to that another weak offensive foul call v Clark and the technical foul and you’ve got a very different scenario than the Iowa v SC situation.

On what planet is this not a technical -- And this is a technical --

/\ Such an awful call that the announcers were sure she must have said something to the refs…nope. Didn’t even look at them (this was in the immediate aftermath of a very weak call v the Iowa center so the refs might have been hypersensitive). I did notice some very odd calls 1st quarter that went both ways.

I’d much rather officials clamp down on blatant taunting in these games than rolling a ball behind your back during a dead ball situation but that’s just me.

IMHO that does not make it better.
I feel the "extra" nonsense detracted from what was otherwise a very good final.
