I know I am in the minority here but I have been pleased with the improvement that Matt has shown this season. CWC has decided, of late, to put Matt in as a starter but he is actually averaging less minutes per game. While still slow afoot, his hands seem quicker and has had some noticeable deflections that have turned into teammates securing a turnover. His long-range shooting beyond the arc is the best on the team.
Here are the key stats so far this year vs. last year:
Stat Last Year This Year
Minutes 18.8 17.6
FG% .439 .500
3 FG% .362 .500
FT% .692 .667
Rebs. 2.9 2.6
Assts/Tos 40/39 13/9
Blks. 29 5
Stls. 10 5
Pts. 5.7 7.0

Next year we may miss having Matt in there. I hope his play continues to improve.

Agree that his positives particularly, shooting, have canceled out his negatives... concerned that he maybe a little to mechanical passing in PO... that's why I liked his mid range jumper & his roll to the hoop in Q game which resulted in 2 made Ft's... agree he knows & executes the D rotations well enough not to be a liability... think the minutes are about right

Before the Q game when a combination of foul trouble and CBC's getting JF more minutes, which resulted in only 15 mins for MH, in the 3 games before that one, his minutes were considerably higher than 18, with the highest being 31 vs Albany.
