Not to jump ahead of the 2023 season, however while reviewing schedules past, I noticed that the 2024 schedule has been posted. Looks like another challenging year with CAA and ACC teams to provide some metal to bolster HC street cred with the ever present critics. Take a look…. goholycross.com/sports/football/schedule/2024Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Syracuse, Yale, Harvard and Bryant are on the OOC. A very attractive schedule for recruiting as well as staff.

Nice schedule, a year that FCS teams are eligible to schedule 12 games, last time was 2019 when we played 2 FBS schools.
Would have been nice to get 6 home games as oppose to 5. Seems like the only option would have been Bryant at home, don’t know if we host them in 2025.
The other 6 road games, we host those teams the following year except for Syracuse.

But the key question is, "which game will be the EBW game in Polar Park!"

5 home games is ok when you have Bryant and Harvard so close. Pretty much any local HC fan that wants to go to those games can. URI's not a terrible ride from Central Mass, either.

As a Fordham link,,,the Rams will be giving an honorary doctorate in the arts to Stevie Wonder this year. They are already getting great publicity in the NYC area.

I'd love to see HC give more honorary degrees to people in the arts. We could start with a few HC alums: Bartlett Sher (Tony Award winner), Edward P. Jones (Pulitzer prize winner).

With some luck maybe one or two of our FCS opponents will be Top-20 teams. I’m assuming we’ll be in the hunt for a playoff seed and that’ll be important.

Years ago, I inquired regarding an honorary degree to a well known recording artist, who was a leader in seeking justice in the United States and famine relief in Africa and Globally. He was a key player in the recording of “We are the World”. Unfortunately, the man who I thought deserved recognition by Alma Mater passed this week.

Well, Coach Chesney owes me a favor, so he scheduled 2 away games in RI but to offset that, 2 games in "central" New York, Colgate and Syracuse (we called it "upstate" New York until I moved to Syracuse). I kid about the owing thing but do appreciate the "home" away games.
'10, is that EBW game a fact or speculation?

But the key question is, "which game will be the EBW game in Polar Park!" Bryant will be the home team at Polar Park as the Woo Sox try to attract some of their RI Paw Sox fans back into the fold by introducing them to the ballpark. Beirne Stadium at Bryant only seats 4400, less than half the capacity of Polar Park so it is a no-brainer to drive a half hour up Rte. 146 and the Sox will make it worth it to mend fences with the Ocean State. I pulled that idea out of my rump but it makes a certain logic. Polar Park is a regional amenity and North Smithfield is in the same exclusive Woo Sox territory as Worcester. That would give us six games in the 016 zip codes and six outside of them.

Speculation based on the usual timing of such game and the fact that I assume those marketing the game will want to have a name opponent. Yale on 9/21 could be another option and you could have Fordham as the Homecoming opponent at Fitton.

Actually, wouldn't 10/12 be during that (IMO, ridiculous) fall week off?
Might as well play that one at Polar; odds on a big crowd at Fitton not very high w/no students.
Clearly, 10/12 will not be Homecoming.

University of Rhode Island - Meade Stadium - Opening Game August 31, 2024.
According to AGS, there has been a presentation to the Rhode Island Trustees and to the Rhode Island Legislature to fund a renovation of Meade Stadium with work possibly beginning this year. The optimistic timeline for changes to be completed is 2025 season.
If one thought that Fitton is long due for a major renovation and face lift,…..here is Meade Stadium.
