She's "rolling on the river" upstairs now. She was a great entertainer with an indomitable positive spirit and energy to burn. R.I.P. Tina. She was a Buddhist which I didn't know.

1985, on a public bus in Barbados with my wife and two year old son. Someone with a boom box playing "What's Love Got To Do With It" at full volume.

Was fortunate to have seen Tina perform twice. First time in 1967 when she performed with Ike in a small theater on a Sunday afternoon. IIRC the opening act was Gladys Knight and the Pips. The second time was in 1986 in a large Civic Center arena. The opening act was Glenn Frey. Needless to say, all performances by the groups were outstanding. I remember each concert vividly.
Wish we could have been able to have the 1843 Club sign her to perform at HC. Like on so many occasions during the late 1960’s and early 1970’s, the old field house would have been rocking.
May her soul, Rest In Peace.
