So, they will have to play in the dark? P.S. I'll have to have the same surgery sometime in the indeterminate future. No rush but "at my convenience." NAD had it done. My wife too. The doctors seem to overpromise and under-deliver on how well you'll see after this "procedure" (we don't use "operation" anymore either and patients no longer have surgical "pain," just some "discomfort.")

I had both cataracts done. Definitely helps with the vision. There are different options for lenses. The traditional ones improve your distance vision but often require readers. I have one of those in my right eye. Distance is good. Reading not so much. Newer lens options allegedly improve both distance and reading. I have one of those in my left eye and the reading is good. Distance not so much. The combo is pretty good for me.

Very happy it worked out for you and unquestionably better than not having it done. For my wife, she was told she would not have to wear glasses anymore. If only I or only she heard that, we’d write it off to we individually misunderstood or heard wrong.
Her eyesight is better but for reading still needs glasses and, in fact, stronger lenses.
Doing the math, my friend, might help that you have 22 years to catch up to me. That might help!😊 OTOH, when I was your age, I didn’t need this procedure and might have just started wearing reading glasses. At one point, much younger, I had 20/10 eyesight (to help make up for my poor hearing).
Now, after this detour, how do we get back to soccer schedules? 😊

Take note….I did not say I would have the vision of an Eagle….🤣. Did not want anyone to think I was turning into a BC fan. Now back to Soccer, first Women’s game is in 15 days, against Rutgers.

At 20/10 as a young man you had Ted Williams vision. Perhaps it was not being able to hit the curveball that kept you out of the majors.

I got the distance lens. Dont need specs to drive now, but can't read crap without help.
With the aging membership here, we might want to consider adding a Wellness sub forum.

Not sure if this applies to cataract lenses, but with contact lenses they "monovisioned" me. Figured out my left eye was the dominant eye and weakened the prescription on the right eye to some degree. This allows me to not get bifocals/progressives, although, quite frankly, my best reading is done with no contacts or glasses whatsoever.

Rutgers is a VERY strong squad as they went 13-5-2 and 5-3-2 in the Big Ten during the 2022 campaign. They were eliminated from the NCAA Tournament by Brown in their first game.
