Walt and Ayir will both be playing in the Tropical Bowl coming up in a few minutes on the American team.
Unfortunately, the game seems to PPV only, and at $30 I probably won't be watching it

Someone couldn’t leverage a relationship at ESPN to get this game on the Plus or somewhere else that someone might watch it?

At least get it for free or a normal streaming service a couple days from now. I don't give a rat's behind about the score, who wins, etc., and I doubt too many people do. If it's on Draft Kings or some similar site and people can bet on it, I pity the fools that do.

You'd have to be a very, very sports junkie to pay $30 for such a game. Viewership will be minimal--maybe just parents

I'd honestly have paid if it was like $10 or something
Very hard to justify $30

Good for Luke. Is this a PWO spot or is he on schollie?

Good for Luke. Is this a PWO spot or is he on schollie? Scholarship. He’s a two time FCS All American OL and 22 years old. Those guys are coveted. Apples and Oranges b/t Stu Smith and him if that’s why you asked. Luke likely had two dozen FBS scholarship offers including many P4. He will be on 2025 draft boards if he stays healthy.

Good for Luke. Going home to play for the Spartans who are in the middle of a re-build. Looking forward to watching him next year

Ches got beat out.
Source: the Rivals site. One of 12 transfers in so far, one other OL, and a long snapper from JMU.

Questions --
On the 2023 roster, Dalton Daddona is listed as a 5th-year. Does he have one more year of eligibility?
If Caron McNair switches to OL, (1) why would he move? and (2) who does he replace?
I will certainly understand if these questions are too speculative and perhaps cannot be answered at this time.

I will certainly understand if these questions are too speculative and perhaps cannot be answered at this time. Dalton is a unique case since he transferred from Penn State. So even though this would technically be his 6th year of college football (including his time in State College), he still has undergraduate credits he can take at HC. I don’t think Caron is replacing anyone specifically. The 4th OT and final spot on the 2-deep is wide open and he likely has a better shot of competing there (he played primarily OT in high school and his one year at ODU) than he does on the DL. NG/DT is pretty deep (Bryce, Jovan, Danolds) especially with incoming frosh Jordan Prichard Sewell arriving who is expected to contribute fairly early.

Tropical Bowl = very strange.
The game was played at Daytona Beach Municipal Stadium. No one in the stands. Players seem to arrive with their agents and families.
Seems to be more a meet and greet opportunity for NFL scouts.
Total of four hours of practice for each squad. Unknown who are the coaches and where they are from.
Ayir had 3 catches for 86 yards and a TD. He added 45 yards on kickoff returns.
