Just saw that Siena will be back on the schedule next season. First time we will play the Saints since the 2008-09 season when Adam May apparently "roughed up" some of Fran's boys.
This is a good game to have back on the slate.

Do you have the whole schedule? Anything really interesting---like a game in Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, or Tennessee?

Sorry, Kentucky. Don't see any games in or around the bluegrass state.

Getting Siena back is good news.
Hope to see more of the Siena's, Northeastern's, Fairfield's, and less of the Sacred Heart's, Maine's, and UNH's.

I agree having Siena, Northeastern, and Fairfield would be nice. However, I disagree with not having Maine and UNH on the schedule. Keep in mind, Holy Cross lost to these 2 teams this year.

One person's opinion. I enjoy playing UNH and Maine (the college of our heart always)

I do not like UNH & Maine on the schedule. We may need to keep UNH because of football. We can do without Maine. What are the chances of getting Fordham back on the schedule?

UNH has finally developed a pretty solid program, and is close by (they did beat Temple a month or so ago). I'm fine with playing them. Maine is another story.
I have nothing against Sacred Heart, but after years and years of playing them, I'd like to change it up a bit. One team I'd to play again in NE is Vermont.

The good news the Cats are 2-0 in this four game series.

A poster on the old board (HC70) used to advocate for weekend couplets during the Christmas break.
BTW, what ever happened to him? He wouldn't be posting here under a different user name, would he?

PC and BC.....all other non-league games are secondary in importance.

We could possibly get BC to come to the DCU, not sure if Providence would do the same. If Providence would not agree to a game at the DCU then I would tell them we would not only play them at the Dunk. We could always find a better team to play. I would like to see us play St. Bonaventure or maybe Seton Hall. I'm still holding out for games with Fordham, great for NY alumni and a good game at the Hart. I'm sure that Fordham would agree a game at the Hart since their Rose Hill Gym is much older and they would have no bargaining power.

However, if you think playing in NYC is not bargaining power I am afraid you are mistaken. How about, HC plays at the DCU if Fordham plays us at MSG???

Crummy teams like UNH, UMaine, Marist, Hartford, Q and others will continue to show up on our ooc schedule as well as somewhat better teams like Sienema and Albany. Why? Because they will play us home and home. Personally I believe a 2-1 with the one being at the DCU vs URI/UMass is not a good idea. Pretty much sews up 0-6 for Coach Carmody. I'm sure he's not too happy with the scheduling that way. Teams like PC, BC and St John's should be $$$ games.
OK, if we follow our same pattern we will have 2 $$$ BCS games with teams similar to 'Cuse and USC and two high mid-major games with UMass and URI. We can then fill in games among UNH, UMaine, Q, Marist, Hartford, Bryant, Sacred Heart, Albany, Siena, Albany, Yale, Brown, Dartmouth, Harvard. Rather than long term contracts with these 14 teams, we should schedule home and homes and shake up when they come rather than 8 years in a row with Hartford. Keeps a chitty schedule from getting stale.
I contacted the Jesuit Basketball Spotlight folks and recommended they tout a Jesuit college basketball tourney at Rose Hill at Xmas or around some Jesuit confab in New York. Start small. HC, Fordham, Canisius and Loyola Chicago.
We should schedule a Europe trip every four years or so to help recruiting. Love to see the team go to southern Spain, learn about the Moorish invasion and play some basketball.

With the new coaching staff in place and increased support for the program among alums, it's my hope that this happens, too. We haven't had a trip like this since the 2006 summer, IIRC.

Jimmy Patsos confirmed at the November Irish Luncheon here in Albany. His talk included a reference to the MAAC having told members schools that they had to upgrade their OOC schedules. When I asked him if that was the reason he was scheduling the Cross he was quite affable about it. He mention his relationship and respect for Coach Carmody. He also made a point of the fact that the prior coaches are all gone. Obviously, living in Albany I love the geography involved. We just have to consistently beat them. I also am partial of playing similarly sized Catholic schools.

I'd love to see HC host a 4 team tourney weekend..HC, Harvard, UMass and BC...at the DCU center. Like the old Colonial Classic...or a tourney at the Hart Center, bring in teams like Davidson, Vermont, Monmouth, Princeton..

I'd love to see HC host a 4 team tourney weekend..HC, Harvard, UMass and BC...at the DCU center. There was a tourney with these 4 schools twice in recent years at the Garden in November, but BC (being the usual dissenter that they tend to be) was the monkey wrench that essentially got it killed.
