So, let’s do a hypothetical. What if Holy Cross was to win out the rest of the season, including a win over FBS Army and once again rises in the polls and Harvard goes undefeated and having beaten Holy Cross rises to a top 10 ranked team. Harvard is one of the mighty HYP teams in the Ivy League, not like Brown, Cornell, Columbia and has more clout within the Ancient Eight. Is there a chance that the IL decides the no playoff football rule has lost whatever relevancy it once had and immediately declares the Ivy champ eligible for playoffs? What Harvard wants, Harvard gets. They should at least be able to accept an at large bid and a seed if they go undefeated and want to accept it. None of the other seven would risk losing their association with Harvard by expelling them from the IL. The Johnnies are effectively judgement proof in the Ancient Eight. But does Tim Murphy want a crack at the playoffs before he retires?
