Looking at the uniform in his commitment photo, is there a chance we are going back to the uniforms HC wore in the Willard era? That would certainly get my vote! Mine as well. I always liked the look much better than the one HC has been wearing pretty much post Willard. I won't even comment on the black uni with Crusader above the number. My favorite unis in 60 years of watching have always been the ones worn in the Potter/Vicens era followed by the Perry/Witts look. I would take either in a heartbeat over what they have been wearing lately.

Irrelevant Players in the units are all that matters Potter and Vicens would have looked good in any color

Irrelevant Players in the units are all that matters Potter and Vicens would have looked good in any color I hear what you are saying but disagree. I thought the same thing about Chris and Mike as I typed but I greatly prefer the unis they wore over recent ones, especially the black ones. I also think the football unis worn in the Lockbaum era were fantastic. Some before and after, not so much. Uniforms make a statement.

Tell them to go play at Providence then. Sheesh! It is all about the brand name! Today's kids want a different uni as often as possible..They are not just 2 sets of uniforms kind of players anymore! I've read about some schools that wear game uni's once and only once! the players keep them! And that is football! The "rich" basketball programs have many different uniforms, all by the same manufacturer of course.... FCRW had 3 uni's if I remember..He didn't like the black ones, but the players did....Nike, Adidas and other companies provide the uniforms, shoes, warm-ups etc. so they try to outdo each other....

Yeah, I know, We had a conversation or two about that but to his credit, he never said that he didn't like the black uniforms, only that the players did like them.
I fully realize that I am neither going to be able to bring back the Crusader or purple uniforms but that doesn't mean I have to like or accept it.

We'll have to find out more about Max Green's mother if he has never beat her one-on-one. How about having Louie Dampier's grandson on the team!

I saw Dampier play in the famous 1966 NCAA final when Kentucky lost to Texas Western. He was one of two Wildcats to be stripped by Bobby Joe Mason for layups in two of the biggest plays of the game.

I keep checking the print Courier-Journal for news of his signing and also for, hopefully, a feature article on "basketball players to watch this season" as the CJ has done before

I used up my 2-3 free visits to their site.

Hear third hand we are working on a contract with another company 😇 You're talking about attire? Given there is a trustee who is a higher up in a company whose initials are U A, I would think they would be a frontrunner. Tried their shoes on a couple of occasions, nice looking but they don't fit me right. As much as I don't like what I hear about their labor practices, I'm pretty much Nike all the time. My opinion about clothes is it all depends on what you do with them- every company has nice looking unis and bogus ones.

The e-edition puts Max at #18 in the Commonwealth. I'll see if the print edition has greater detail
18. Max Green
NOTE: nice to see that there was a great photo of Max , one of only three photos in the article on the 30 players
Oldham County's Max Green (10) celebrated with students after he hit the game-winning three-point shot against Collins during their game at the Martha Layne Collins High School gym in Shelbyville, Ky. on Feb. 1, 2022. Oldham County won 55-52.
School: Oldham County
Height: 6-6
Class: Senior
PPG: 23.8
College: Holy Cross
-------------
Oldham County High School did not make the CJ's Top 25 list
Update: Today's print edition repeats the Top 25 Teams listing but does not list the Top 30 Players. My guess is we'll see that tomorrow.

I have to assume KY hs hoops is quite strong so being ranked 18th in the state is nice recognition. Having said that, we know rankings often aren't worth the paper they are written on.

I have to assume KY hs hoops is quite strong so being ranked 18th in the state is nice recognition. Having said that, we know rankings often aren't worth the paper they are written on. To me it is interesting to see where the players are going to college, presumably on scholarship. If your guy is ranked, say #13, and the 12th, 14th, and 15th players are getting scholarships to Xavier, Vanderbilt, and Richmond that's great; if they go to Centre, Lindsay Wilson, and Spalding that is not so good. We don't have a complete list for the Kentucky Top 30 as some have not yet committed, some are underclassmen, and likely some will not play in college. So we can't draw a conclusion on Max and we know, of course, that sometimes lower ranked players can excel in college. 1) Kentucky 2) Western Kentucky 4) South Carolina 5) Ohio University 6) Liberty 16) Liberty. 18) Max Green-Holy Cross 23) Florida Gulf Coast 24) Bellarmine 28) Tennessee-Martin 30) Liberty These are all D-1 schools

I sent an email to the Courier Journal’s high school beat writer asking if he’d be writing a recap of local LOU signings. I’m anxious for word that Max is on board….
