Who knows - the same type of commentary on every year's recruiting class and most years we're struggling - have we ever had a winning record ? all time winning pct in PL is .306 take a look at our history here: goholycross.com/documents/2022/3/3/coach-misc.pdf

I saw that the women's lacrosse schedule was announced so I looked at it. To my surprise they have a home game against Stanford on 2/19/24. And then I thought: why would Stanford want to play a game in Worcester on 2/19?

So, if Belichick pere were to "retire" at the end of this season for the Patriots, is Amanda's future in jeopardy as HC LAX coach?

No it is too short and the reason they have played at Bryant in the past when there is cold weather. They should be able to play on 2/19 as the men's season opening weekend is 2/3 across the country.

Should be nothing but I have heard that with her record, the only thing saving her job is her last name.
She has had exactly one winning season in 8 seasons, the truncated Covid season in 2020 when she went 5-3 and played no league games.
Her overall record is 40-76 with a 34.5% winning percentage.
League play her record is 19-39 with a 32.8% winning percentage.
In fairness, we aren't very good in any "minor" sport. Whatever happens to her father should have nothing to do with Amanda. That said, her record isn't something that she could leverage for a contract extension either. It all depends on what Kit expects from women's LAX at Holy Cross.
Can she claim that she's turned a corner with the program?:

Oh, yeah, now I remember, it was Foley who told me "So, if Belichick pere were to "retire" at the end of this season for the Patriots, is Amanda's future in jeopardy as HC LAX coach?" I'm kidding. I'm not qualified to judge whether Amanda should have gotten the job at HC or even whether she should stay but let's just say Foley's comment is not his alone from atop the hill that her name was a factor. Here's some "alternative facts" (but real facts): While not winning seasons, her most recent last two seasons might be her best: 2022 6-10 (3-6) 2023 7-11 (4-5) Perhaps the program is on an upswing?

Her only college coaching experience was a 10-20 record over two seasons at Wesleyan. Yes, the NESCAC is a good D-3 women's lax conference but still. Before Wesleyan she spent three years at Ohio State and a year at UMass where she has been by far the second best assistant coach from that staff as current BC WLAX coach Acacia Walker was the Associate head coach that season.

Should be nothing but I have heard that with her record, the only thing saving her job is her last name. It's the only reason she got the job, as well. Part of FADNP's strategy injecting Holy Cross "back into the national consciousness."

If Bill joins Curran's defensive staff, Amanda should have carte blanche as far as keeping her position.

When TG was having his late game decision making challenges, I thought why not enlist Amanda Belichick as game day time and distance/situational football assistant, probably from the booth. I figured she knew all that from osmosis surrounded by coaches in the family. Of course I was smart enough to keep my suggestions to myself.🙂

Part of FADNP's strategy injecting Holy Cross "back into the national consciousness." His plan worked (not) with both Princeton and Northwestern connections lifting Holy Cross into academic elite status after Coach Carmody was hired. The best possible destination for HC sports-wise would be to duplicate Gonzaga's success but I don't notice Gonzaga being referred to as a Stanford or Duke after years of elite basketball teams. Sports and academics rub off on each other mainly in the margins. Excelling or stinking in one does not significantly change the other.

Compare the OOC schedule for the 22 and 23 seasons to the pre-Covid years. This more likely the factor in the few more Ws. But maybe Bill can be added as a volunteer assistant. Now that would be a reason to retain her.
