Navy is currently 5-8 (0-4 on the road). Tip-off is set for 7:00pm on Monday. Massey makes Holy Cross a 7 point favorite (61-54) with a 74% chance for the win. I am looking for a big rebound win by the Crusaders after our loss to BU. I'll post the line-ups later today. Happy New Year to all.

Well to start with, they came very close to beating Bucknell in the opener. Seven (or 17) seems very generous

You may be thinking of the Navy women who are favored by 17. PS: Today, Massey would make HC a 2 point favorite at Navy with the game a virtual toss-up. It illustrates the importance of home court.

what i expect... we will bounce back with a relatively comfortable win on our home floor. the loss to bu was not pretty and revealed a real threat to what appears to be carmody's preferred lineup with at and pb on the court at the same time, but the game was not nearly the season-dooming disaster that some are making it out to be. i did not expect to beat bu on the road.
what i hope... navy packs the zone in tight against us again as we will likely be working on that in practice and need to execute a strong counter-strategy. we need to take more of the mid-range shots we passed up against bu. and of course, we need to make them. i would also like to see ziggy and cls get some minutes if navy goes zone.

KenPom's site states that Navy played M2M against us in two games last season, but I think his determination of M2M vs Zone is based on statistical analysis, not on eye witness observation. Can any posters recall how Navy defended us last year?

Yes. Navy's brass band is awesome....especially on Anchors Aweigh. One fond memory of the PL tourney years ago, when the tourney was at HC, was the Army/ Navy game with both bands battling from opposite ends of the court! The best band I've seen, however, has to be the Dayton Flyers pep band... They put on a show!

Hopefully the guys don't come out heavy legged and tired like at BU. This would be a crushing loss. Gotta hold serve at home. GO CROSS GO!!!!!!

About as much excitement on this board as there is in the first 10 min of this game. A blah 8-8 affair so far.

Navy is not good. We'd better not lose this game. 7 points in 13 minutes outside of the buzzer-beating 30-footer from Champion.
