In the last 2 games our shooting problems appear to be in our 'big 3'; they are 22/71 from the floor, 32%; the rest are 14/36, 39%
From 3: the big 3 are 10/35; the rest 9/20
FT's: the big 3 are 12/16; the rest [all in Navy game] 3/4

We may be shooting 3s "average" relative to our peers, but low to mid 30s is not "good" for "winning basketball games" by "putting the ball into the hoop at a reliable pace." Shooting in the upper 40s from the field is decent. Shooting in the 60s from the charity stripe is abysmal.

it looks like we're scoring about 95 points per 100 possessions, which seems pretty poor - and worst for any HC team since the 2003-04 edition. Is there something else going on here? The adjusted efficiency is better this year (99.3) than last year (96.0), a big reason is that our eFG% is 2.5 percentage points better. The 2003-04 season did indeed feature a very bad offense (92.5). That's a significant improvement that, if I am figuring things correctly, generates 2.0 extra points per the 61 possessions we have per game. The defense is better as well, yielding 3.1 fewer points per 61 possessions. Our W-L record would look a lot better if we were 3-1 in 1-2-3 point games instead of being 1-3 in those games--no real insight there.... Of course, we are comparing the full season of last year (with different OOC opponents) versus a partial season this year with only 2 PL games versus the 22 we played last season

Our 4 seniors should all be above 70% on free throws.
I don't think they're a good shooting team; I don't think they're a bad shooting team. They are incredibly streaky and inconsistent.
I was wondering this morning if any of the outcomes to the games would have been different if they shot their team average during each game (48.4% 2s, 35.2% 3s, and 69.1% FT). Assuming nothing else was different (I know, I know, can't assume that, but regardless), I think they would have had enough points to beat UMass, UNH and Maine. On the other hand, they may have lost to Q and Sacred Heart. So, maybe the inconsistency hasn't affected the overall record that much.
