I watched the second half last night. Thought it was one of the better broadcasts reception (if that's the correct term) wise. I didn't do any stopping or starting like I usually do (most of the time I'm watching it an hour or so behind; this time it was real time). I am going to switch my main desktop to Ethernet; the way my desktops are situated now no reason I can't have both of them hooked up to the same router. Definitely faster speed with the router. Like Crosser, I'm not sure I understand you. What is the difference between Ethernet and WiFi from a wireless router? Ethernet's faster and more stable, not subject to interference/degradation, etc as wifi is. If you're concerned about the fastest connection possible (and when streaming video, you should be concerned with this) Ethernet (aka a wired connection) is always preferable to wifi. I have two Roku's.... one is right next to my router, so I have that one on Ethernet. Other one is on opposite side of the house, so I can't do ethernet there. I watch the HC games on the ethernet-connected one as much as possible.

I have a large monitor on my PC so just watch the games that way for now, perfectly fine. While not that comfortable, I'm not particularly comfortable watching anyway, especially down 1 with 10 seconds to go and the other guy shooting 1&1

I'm not a techie but I know what works for me.
I have a Roku stick feed on my TV which picks up a signal from my Optimum WiFi. I use the "Lifestream app" and the games come in flawlessly, much like I am watching a game on ESPN.
The most challenging issue is finding the HC feed on Livestream. I find it's best to use its "Search" function, type in Holy Cross, and click on what programs it finds.
I believe all the HC PL games for the rest of the season can be viewed this way.

This is exactly what I do. And yes, I had the same trouble searching within the Livestream app. I think what you describe above is indeed the best way. (In the PL Tourney, you may have to search by some different string...)

Doesn't the "video" link on the gohc.com schedule page get you to the game, home and away?
Ok, you're talking about the app ...

I believe farther up this thread someone said that you can get a direct connection on Apple TV to Campus Insiders.
When I have watched games on my big screen TV via Apple TV, I have run the game off my iPhone or IPAD and "mirrored" onto the TV.
i cannot see how to download/run Campus Insiders onto the TV directly.
Any experts out there to list the steps I doing this?

I have found Livestream on Roku, but as of 6 pm I could not find the game...Searching for Holy Cross, found archived games, including todays Women's game. I'm hoping tonights game will show up at 7.. On Apple TV, I'd also look for Livestream.....then search for Holy Cross or Colgate or both...

I think sader70 is trying to figure out how to get the livestream app as an available app on the Apple TV menu. I'm trying to do that also

Thanks to all for the advice. My viewing tonight was far superior as I moved closer to the wireless router. On the one occasion that the picture go blurry I followed the advice of he board and made sure in was at 720 and when I put it back there things cleared up immediately.

I watched the game on Livestream for the first time. Great picture! my only problem was I lost the feed with 19 seconds left. Had to reboot it, and by that time the teams were shaking hands..Still much better than at Patriotleague.com....

I greatly appreciate this aspect of the Board, the sharing of technical information by those with computer competence with old bastards like me.
I have ordered an Amazon fire stick and will be seeking assistance when it comes.
In the meantime, are some routers more powerful than others? I know there are repeaters but the distance from my TV to the router is only about 20 feet so it wouldn't seem that I should get a repeater. I don't want to invest in a longer HDMI cable as the Fire stick will be here by the end of the month.
Thoughts as to whether there is any loss in the signal by running it through a long HDMI cable?

Yes, some routers will work better than others. Also the wiring in your home, etc. At least that's true for Fios. I have their service but inside my home it's all still coaxial. Ethernet* speed is great, WIFI varies and I am looking to upgrade that if I can. * right now I have my wife's desktop and an external hard drive (called a personal cloud) hooked up to Ethernet. There may exist the possibility I can stream in other locations in my home via the personal cloud. Never enough time in the day to check that sort of thing out, but I'm going to give it a shot.
