Reno views HC as a step up. He has won 4 IL titles and was the coach of the year in 2022 in the IL. HC beat him up last couple years. He will look at the HC job as an opportunity to continue building on Chesney's foundation.

Both have ENDOWED positions in the Ivy League where coaches stay for 10+ seasons or retire. Why not say Tim Murphy might be interested in leaving Harvard for Holy Cross? Nobody is saying Reno is interested. And Murphy is too old. Reno is a good coach who knows this level of student athlete. We are saying HC should reach out to him and express interest. Joel Lamb is the only Harvard coach that there is any possibility of mutual interest. And if it's a fait accompli that he's Murphy's successor, then that possibility goes down to 0.

Not the previously mentioned flight but this one landing in Worcester today at 11:59am and returning to Shenandoah some 15 minutes later.... N525DP Jeez, I don't care if it's Chesney or not Chesney on that plane, but I'd want the damn thing to get a once-over before taking off again. Better you see something "down here' than 'up there"!

If I am guessing right the 1230 meeting is with Kit to answer questions and give the kids a timeline. Current class of commits are having their OVs this weekend and next. I have to imagine someone would hopefully be in place as the new head coach when these families arrive so that a discussion about next steps with the program can take place.

Tell me how exactly the HC job is 'beneath' them.....This song & dance is so old Both have ENDOWED positions in the Ivy League where coaches stay for 10+ seasons or retire. Why not say Tim Murphy might be interested in leaving Harvard for Holy Cross? I was thinking along these same lines earlier this morning. Do the IL jobs pay that much more than HC? Murphy left a bigger-time program (Cincinnati) and has been at Harvard for 30 years Reno is in his first HC gig at Yale - for 10 years now Amaker went to Harvard after HC jobs at Seton Hall and Michigan, and has been there 16 years Do we really think that these IL coaches (and others) have never been courted by other "step up" programs? VR and the Board need to decide what our commitment to athletics is going to be - with consideration given to the national awareness that the FB program has provided over the past five years.

I don't want a football coach who at 42 wants to stay at Holy Cross forever.

I don't want a football coach who at 42 wants to stay at Holy Cross forever. If he's a better coach than most and wins conference championships, I sure as hell do. I get that you want someone who is hungry, but can't you have it all at HC??

Ok. So what we expected has now arrived. Question for me is: Who on the current staff does Chesney take with him to JMU?

Ok. So what we expected has now arrived. Question for me is: Who on the current staff does Chesney take with him to JMU? Well, Cignetti took the OC and DC with him. Not sure if Kennedy is ready for that jump to FBS, even G5? DC is logical, but I am not sure if James who went to Norwich and lives in Maine would be up for the relocation.

Think it's really important we keep Scott James on this staff...fingers crossed he doesn't get poached to Chesney or anywhere else with the uncertainty.

I think we can retain Coach James. Reading the tea leaves here, I wouldn't be surprised if he was named the interim coach if we don't have someone already locked in.
I think there's also some smoke to Corey Heatherman being Ches's new DC at JMU, and I don't think Coach James would want to move his family to VA for a positional coach role, though admittedly, I've never spoken to him in person so I could just be projecting.

Does James Madison need a dual threat QB?? Their starter from this past season is in the portal, so they would have to be the favorites for Matt. I personally hope he goes for the biggest bag at this point and to a stronger conference, though I would not be surprised in the least if he follows FHCBC.

"Have it all" is the pitch to potential student-athletes, allowing them to pursue their passions and talents in athletics and academics, setting yourself for a life of opportunity and success through the unique experience and network the Cross can offer. It is not to describe the coaching position.

Assumption's Andy McKenzie who is 30-21 with experience at Holy Cross would be a good candidate...They had a terrible end of the season (maybe injuries) but did defeat a final four team to start the season.

Coach DiMike is a key guy to retain, imo, if not THE key guy.

Pass. Not necessarily a bad coach, but I thought he was just so-so- as OC/QB coach. We can do better than him.
