Cripes! It's Christmas. Let Fr. Brooks rest in peace. None of us can change the past, including and especially Fr. Brooks. He's gone . . . . . literally. Keep it up, guys and I will start to re-litigate the Crusader mascot/logo/cognomen decision of the dearly departed Fr. Boroughs (yes, I know he's still alive but he's departed Holy Cross). You'll regret it, I promise! To be fair...people keep posting about Fr. Brooks and his decisions and the impact they had/didn't have. Others can't comment?

Comment...sure. But to what end. I respected Fr Brooks as a great man and I learned a great deal from him. I believe he made some mistakes in regard to athletics. I am sure he was well intentioned, but no one is perfect. The obsession some seem to have with a few of his decisions is troubling. Nothing will change in our history of that time. I hope you can let the past rest in peace.

For those of us who attended HC in the 70’s, this would be like rehashing decisions made in the Twenties. Time to let it go. Merry Christmas.

I agree. Time long overdue to let it go. I plead guilty to defensiveness, But, when I read mischaracterizations I feel impelled to respond out of a sense of fair play to set the record straight. Moreover, I completely agree time is long past to move on as per my use of "umpteenth" and "onto HC All Stars." Pleas let it go. Enough already. Move on. Peace.
