I know some here view it as verboten to discuss our former coach or his current employment, but I saw an interview with him from spring practice today mentioning that Coker was down there with his team

FWIW In today’s complete draft prediction in The Athletic, CJ is forecast to go in the 7th round to the Jets, the next to last pick. No mention of Jalen. Dylan Laube went in the 5 th round.

Funny, most full draft predictions I've seen had Coker and no CJ....Laube is getting alot of love, I'd say Laube and Coker are the consensus "diamonds in the rough" picks among "experts". I'd love to see them both land somewhere that gives them a real shot (and CJ too of course...I'll take him on the jets!)

That The Athletic draft had Laube going to the Jets I read something not long ago...perhaps after HC's pro day that Laube attended, that suggested a strong interest by the Jets scout that was in attendance.

Is today the day for Jalen & CJ? Probably not since they've only completed round 3. Thought they were projected for ~6

Keep in mind that there are some benefits to not being drafted. Obviously nice to say you were an NFL draft pick but getting to a team you pick based on fit and opportunity also has value.

Once you get past the first 5-10 picks of the 7th round, the signing bonus is comparable to a high priority UDFA (which both would be). 6th round signing bonus averaged 230k last year v 7th which was 130k.
I’d say once you get past first couple picks of the 7th round, it’s nice to hear your name called but the money and odds of making a 53 man roster are so similar one probably wants to pick their ideal scheme and depth chart.
FWIW, 4th round avg signing bonus last year was ~900k. 5th round ~400k.

Patriots fans who liked Seinfeld will get to yell one or two of these, or both.
"I like The Drake" "I hate the Drake"

Didn’t your mothers ever tell you a watched pot never boils.
Go outside. Take a walk. Go to the Saturday vigil Mass, grab a bite to eat.
If either are picked, they will still be picked at 9:00 tonight.
If either or or both are not picked, they’ll be signed by noon tomorrow, probably a lot sooner.
They will both get a chance.

I am going to the vigil mass and am assigned to do the first reading. I was going to ask Father Shayne if I could report the Crusader draft picks but now I’ll hold off.😊 I do think the Acts of the Crusaders fits well with the Acts of the Apostles, though...

BTW - with the Patriots taking the 180th pick in the 4th round - a CB from South Carolina - i did a quick perusal of the entire draft. So for a total of 2 players from non-FBS schools have been picked. Both from South Dakota State. One in the 4th round (pick 119) and one in the 5th round (pick 173).
It's not looking like a good year to be from an FCS chool.
Likely, residue of the additional COVID year and the portal where a bunch of former FCS kids took their final year of eligibility at an FBS school.
[EDIT]
Looks like I missed the OT from Yale selected in the 3rd round at #75. So, 3 in 180 picks. But still no bueno for FCS kids.

He was the best pro prospect in FCS. Probably second round if he hadn't gotten injured.

Our friend Isaiah Davis went to the Jets! The RB from SDSU who had what felt like 7 years of eligibility.

Chiefs drafted an IOL from Penn State that played at Cornell for 3 seasons starting 20 games. The DE from Houston Christian that went to the Eagles also played at Cornell for 3 years.
