Cheering for Washington. Gotta like the underdog. Michigan looked impressive on first drive.

The Washington defense is getting abused.

Michigan 2 TDS first 2 possessions. Then a FG on 3rd. Then a punt. Then Washington stops a 4th down. Michigan seems to be losing off offensive momentum.
Washington on the other hand picking it up and now down 17-10. Back in the game.

Interesting game. Washington first possession and throws an interception deep in Washington territory but their defense holds Michigan to a FG, 20-10.

An exchange of second half FGs, Michigan up 20-13.
Suspect a lot more scoring to come.

Michigan champs with 34-13 win. Was rooting for Washington, so a bit disappointed.

Tainted. Bunch of cheaters! Suspended head coach during the year. .
We destroy the Astors, destroy the Patriots for spygate but oh Michigan is fine. They clearly broke the rule and got caught. .
Not to mention all the scandal with the Fab 5.

Not to mention all the scandal with the Fab 5. Michigan has a legit offense. Corrum was a beast all year. Great D, but how much was from the gameplan and knowing what the opponent's playbook and game signs? We might never know? My Dawg friend thinks UGA would have beaten Michigan. Who knows? Maybe come April they will have to vacate it like USC 20 years ago

My post-game post last evening has been deleted. Was intended as a “light” response to my classmate’s post who has some Columbus history, said he was rooting for Washington last night and is aware of my geographic ties. Probably should have been a PM. It was not intended to stimulate further dialogue or controversy about subjects which have been discussed extensively in the last 12 months. I can understand the responses. Sorry for the late night post.

I think Michigan last night was one of the best, surest and hardest tackling teams I can remember. They hit hard and brought down the ball-carriers.
I recall, too, that Corum shared Comeback Player of the Year plaudits with Jacob Dobbs (and someone else).

Michigan also got away with holding (clearly grabbing uniform jerseys on the replays) on almost every play. One might have almost thought the officials had some money on the game. Michigan is an outstanding team, but IMHO they did have some zebra help early in the game when they got off to their early lead.

Having said that, Michigan was otherwise phenomenal on both sides of the ball last night. Washington had few answers to their running game, their O lone was incredible, and they hounded Michael Penix all night long.

Would have liked to have seen them play Georgia

The game was over too late for me to post anything after it was over and too many other things to do today but Chu is absolutely right that holding was frequently not called against Michigan and in 3 cases it was blatant and the announcers said something to the effect that "the refs are letting them play" even when the announcers cited the holding. I don't recall Washington having any of those blatant holds.
A good match and, like Holy Cross' loss to SDSU last season, this game was much closer than the score would indicate.

It seems there is always something about Michigan football which turns millions off. Obviously, they have a large fan base but they are genuinely disliked by people. I don't know the reason. Is Michigan the most disliked program? OSU? Alabama? I wonder which college football programs are the most disliked by the general football viewing public? Are there any particular college basketball programs widely disliked?

Duke is easily the most widely disliked MBB program.
College Football -- not sure. Texas?
