A ninth inning rally breaks the tie. Three wins this early in the season, with solid Abs, and avoiding games with multiple errors is a good start

Hawaii had split a four game series with Ole Miss and took a game from top 20 NC State earlier this season.
That's a real bummer about Scanlon. Perhaps our best all-around player.

Another solid showing by HC. Alex Bryant held Hawaii scoreless thru 5 innings before getting in some trouble in the 6th - we struck out 16 times which is a concern but our D made no errors - with Scanlon out I wonder who our no.3 starter will be today

Is this the baseball program’s first win in the state of Hawaii? Better yet, the first program win outside of the continental United States? Inquiring minds want to know!

Was watching the game when Scanlon was hit and he was not awarded first base on a hit by pitch. Apparently ump called it a foul ball when he was hit on his back (left) arm as we was turning away on the inside pitch. I thought it was a bad call at the time and, in view of the final result, even worse. He is probably our best overall hitter…certainly our best power hitter. A huge blow to our fortunes this year. While Scanlon is a LH hitter, he throws/pitches with his RH. I don’t know what, if any, difference that might make in a return in some capacity before the end of the season but, at least, it was not a break to his throwing arm.

4-1 HC middle 3rd. Both Cam Bryant and CJ Egrie with 2out 2rbi doubles in the 3rd

Pitching didn't hold up and we did not add-on any runs, resulting in 7-4 loss both teams had 8 hits and no errors We're competitive against schollie programs.

Was it 2023 or 2022 that the defense was a sieve? Happy to see that facet of the game improve so far.

A crazy thought but might be worth asking
Since the pitching staff is so young, I wonder if they could ask Matt Blake to evaluate film of the pitchers and recommend ways for them to improve?

And...we'll have another Big West opponent next weekend in UC Riverside. Good to see we are gaining exposure out West as well. I believe we've had a small, but not insubstantial amount of players from California and the Western US. I feel like when I started at HC, Najarian was the head coach and we were not playing that difficult of a non-conference schedule. I want to say Ryder and Stetsons of the world. DiCenzo brought us to Cali, to LSU, Mississippi State, and A&M. Glad to see us getting back to a solid non-conference schedule. Nonetheless, we still need to win in the PL.

As an aside, UMass Lowell played 3 games at K State over the weekend - they were swept by a total score of 37-5

A -20 run differential against stiff competition (W&M is 8-3, K-State is 7-3, Hawaii is 6-5) is really encouraging, IMO.

I can bet he breaks down film and it might take him a half a day to review and give some advice.

Agree, would be nice in Nov. - Feb. for him to lend his expertise to help some fellow 'Saders.

I would be surprised if coach tinkam knows who Matt Blake is, knows what cressey performance is or that it is right up the road in Hudson, not one pitcher gets better working with him. I understand that the pitchers and position players have the save workout routine in the weight room. That is so behind the times thinking it is appalling. I think they only care about getting full pay tuition kids on the team, full stop.

HC has had a well-respected S&C program for decades. Definitely trust your sources, but that's a shame and I don't think that was the case in years past. As for the lack of development under the current pitching coach, this is clear.
