I have just noticed (maybe it's been there for months !) that the official seating capacity in the basketball arena is '3536'. in the past year there has been some discussion here if the new seating plan would change the capacity downward. well, it has but only by few as I previously know that '3600' was always stated as the capacity.

That will make it easier to record the attendance accurately when we have the next sellout....

What happened to 4,000 capacity ?

Have this season's crowds made this a problem?

I think that much of that discussion might have been driven around the assumption that some or all of the lower side bleachers were to be converted to chairback seating.

There are now aisles in the lower level bleachers where there used to be seats. Some reduction there There are notches in the end bleachers to make room for floor mounted hoops. Some reduction there On the bench side, some rows of backed chairs near mid court have been removed to set up a new handicap accessible area.
I haven't looked at actual numbers, but there is clearly a reduction
In case anyone was wondering, the old "handicap accessible" area basically consisted of parking a wheelchair in the corner where the home team enters and exits the court. I'm not sure if that was official or not, but that's the only place I recall seeing wheelchairs

So maybe the 3,546 is 3,146 seats plus 400 standing room.

When I get a chance later today, I will again look at the capacity numbers for the Hart that are in the contract specs. I will note that those numbers were based on salvaging and re-using the old end-court bleachers, but those have been replaced and a few seats sacrificed for the cutout behind the basket (where the plywood is).
The seated capacity of the rink is under 900, around 860-870 or so IIRC.
