For those who obsess with opponent 2fg% the excessive TO's can't be discounted. Points per possession must be the unit of measurement for this team to look at defensive production . The debate - whether it's better to be effective (i.e., low defensive FG%) or efficient (low PPP) - is a worthwhile one, and I don't think there's a clear-cut answer. Causing large numbers of TOs create offensive inefficiencies, but it's a high risk strategy.

Points per possession must be the unit of measurement for this team to look at defensive production . agree 100%. as you noted, points per possession is what anyone who knows a lick about basketball considers to be the best metric of a team's overall defensive prowess. although in reality, there is really only one poster who obsesses about 2fg%. just as he obsesses about anything else that he perceives (in his limited understanding of the game) to be negative about this basketball team, with absolutely no acknowledgment of the things that we do well, aside from occasional contrarian praise that goes against the grain on almost every established statistical metric of our team and individual players. i enjoyed watching this half of basketball. thought we played outstanding defense, we were strong in spots offensively, and we did a great job bouncing back from an early deficit.

3 turnovers for Kempton--had 7 versus America. I'm not disputing that he's a heckuva player but he does commit turnovers, having the ball as much as he does...

It isn't often that we watch kc lunge at an opponent at the top of the key to get a steal--it's more active hands and well kept defensive positioning IMHO. A lot of "little things" done right.

Causing large numbers of TOs create offensive inefficiencies, but it's a high risk strategy.that can be true but is not necessarily true, woogray. units of a team can overplay on the perimeter and try to get a jump on passing lanes in the middle of the floor (thereby putting itself in position to get steals), but as long as they maintain some presence and awareness of other areas of the floor, they need not surrender easy baskets. not every team can do it well as it takes intelligence, practice, and great awareness, but i think we can and are doing it pretty well. to your point, it's certainly a balance, but it's by no means a sure thing that getting lots of steals means allowing lots of easy buckets. we seem to be getting better as time goes on and i look forward to seeing how we continue to develop this year and in the future.

has it been mentioned why KC is wearing 3 today? The announcers mentioned it several times. Reason for the change?

Only 7 of our 23 FGAs were threes - lowest rate in a very long time, iirc.

Very good first half by the team!
Getting a little sick of the "Crying to refs" by the LU players!
Kempton getting close to being McCrybaby!

Kempton has always been a whiner - and the fact that we are scoring 2/3 of our baskets inside the arc speaks volumes about his defensive "presence."

Benzan fantastic. Has the X factor. Except when he's in bounding the ball under his own basket. Fell asleep there.

This game has captured how well (at times), how poorly (at times) and how consistently inconsistent this team has played this season.

This offense and rebounding wil not compete with top four of PL. stand around, heave threes, no position players for rebounds. Great game plan!

hc has not adjusted at all to the lehigh zone and we are getting our asses handed to us this half as a result.
i cannot understand having at and pb on the floor together against zones. carmody may not have many choices, but if there was ever a time to give ziggy and lesann some burn, it is now. the lack of adjustment is one carmody if we cannot solve the zone with this lineup.
