Anyone else notice a patch on the other shoulder from the Fr. K patch of some Crusaders (all?). Looks like an academic cap. My video stream too fuzzy to make it out exactly. Anyone have the story?

Any coach that does not zone us is a moron.
Our offense against this zone is absolutely clueless.
Very tough to watch.

I did not like the way Charles did/didn't go for that loose ball. Looked afraid.
Foul trouble, maybe? In any case, Carmody yanked him.

The Lafayette game may have made us a little too sanguine about the offense. With the exception of just a couple possessions, the Leopards played man all night - no well-coached team will make that mistake again.

Tough to win when you spot the opponent 8 points to start and only score one hoop the first nine minutes of the second half. Frustrating team to watch!

any coach who does not start out in zone defense against us is giving us a gift.
carmody needs to adapt asap. with either the personnel he puts on the floor or if he insists on having at least two players on the perimeter who can't/won't shoot threes, come up with some way to attack the seams in the zone for higher quality shots.

We do practice our offense against zone defenses, right? Of course. I understand you are being sarcastic, but it does get tedious to hear this sort of question after losses.

They are probably not final stats, but what I just brought up shows HC had 17 total rebounds. Kempton by himself had 17. Something wrong with this picture.
My frustration continues to be when down 10-14 points with 2-3 minutes left, we pass it around like we have a lead looking for the perfect shot and still chucking it up with an even worse shot with 3 seconds on the shot clock.

At the half, HC was down by 4 in rebounds in the second half it was a different game on the boards.

-20 rebounding again, will not get it done against any team. Maybe its lack of personnel, but I will never understand this logic.

-20 rebounding again, will not get it done against any team. Maybe its lack of personnel, but I will never understand this logic. This may have something to do with personnel, but is also a function of this coach. As noted often here, Carmody-coached teams have been very poor offensive rebounding teams, largely giving up the offensive boards to get back and do a better job in transition defense. Less often discussed is the fact that his Northwestern teams were generally quite poor at the defensive end as well. Whether this is due to the system or lack of emphasis, it would be the triumph of hope over experience to believe it is going to change. Coming into this game, Holy Cross was garnering less than 70% of the available defensive rebounds, ranking 274th in the country.
