While I'm not familiar with the other 5, but agree 100% with Sam Fregenti. Softball has had few standouts in the last 3 decades, but she is certainly one. In addition to her position in the record books, she's a cancer survivor and great alumna. Congrats to her and all of the inductees.

Who are the others ? You are not familiar with Kalif Raymond ? Or Paul Pearl ?

Random conversation with a young colleague who attended Elon. She mentioned a chance meeting at the grocery store with a famous, older HC alumus. She had forgotten her wallet back I'm her dorm and he kindly paid for her groceries. After he left, one or the cashiers mentioned that he was a baseball manager. Turns out, old Jack McKeon '52 paid for her groceries. I was surprised to see he isn't in the varsity club as a member of the CWS Championship team. Anyone have a clue as to why? Perhaps he is long overdue to avoid a posthumous induction.

I saw one article say he left after 1 semester to sign with Pirates, and wiki also says he also attended Seton Hall and Elan (unclear when, or in what capacity, if he played for them, or if it was after going pro)...in any event, not sure one semester warrants Hall of Fame membership, but a cool connection I never knew we had.

Jack McKeon is not listed as a member of the CWS winning team, at least on Wikipedia.
Perhaps he was a freshman and therefore, at the time, not eligible for the varsity.
I would throw another name out there for Hall of Fame consideration, even though it's perhaps too long ago to register with those choosing.
That would be John Meegan, Class of '38, Varsity Club Treasurer before Tony Froio. Same job, same devotion to it; and to HC in general. And, after all, they did name an award after the man.

Yes, only one semester in fact:

The 1952 team photo from the HC site has 17 players and 1 coach. No names given. The wiki roster lists 26 players.

Now I know why all of those "Our Lady of Victory, pray for us" pleas in huddles before games haven't worked. Jack McKeon used up all of Her aid for Crusaders for all time.

If the College lists him as '52, that is when he was scheduled to graduate. So his one semester was likely in the Fall of 1948.
In the old printed version of the Alumni Directory, there was a section listing graduates from each class by year. Following each class was another section for each class entitled, in McKeon's case"
EX-1952
meaning students who attended, but did not graduate from the college. For whatever reason, that is not denoted in the online directory.
I have a couple of old print versions of the directory and will check McKeon's status when I get home, unless someone retired or working-from-home has a copy and would like to check.

That makes sense as the sabr site that Ray referenced has him graduating HS in 1948. He most likely dropped out after the first semester at HC, thus could not have played any baseball, certainly not in ‘52. To allow him to leave HC, he promised his parents he would eventually get a degree. In 1957 he received his degree from Elon.

He played minor league ball starting in 1949; so, yes, fall of 1948 seems the most likely occurrence.
And, he was born in 1930; which for someone not old enough to have served his country in WW2, makes sense (I'm sure there were a ton of old guys entering HC in 1946,7,8).

I think the class of '50 was a particularly large class. with the '46 high school grads and returning GI's
