As they spend their final few hours of undergrad Crusaders, a quick word of thanks to Montgomery, Rabinovich, Coulibaly, Octave, and Tse. Although the on court results aren't what you hoped for, the hard work and dedication to the program were appreciated by at least this fan. All the best as you start the next chapter of your lives. Special note to Montgomery, Rabinovich, and Coulibaly - during a period when almost everyone was jumping ship, it was nice to see these three stick it out for four years

Jade Tse went the opposite route compared to those former HC players who transferred to a lesser academic school. He was rewarded today with an HC diploma. He should thank Brett Nelson.

Congratulations to all of our seniors who have now joined the HC alumni.
In his four years at HC, today was the first time I saw the true name for “Bo” Montgomery as was announced when he received his diploma.
Wishing success in their chosen career paths.

He undoubtedly won a few jump balls in his BB journey to date.

He's listed in the program but perhaps for some reason wasn't there. Ayir Asante was also listed but did not see him either. Checked the video and he was NOT there.

To the uninformed observer, Tse is a curiosity He played a few minutes in the opener and at some point got hurt. Unlike most injured players he was not even on the end of the bench in civies. Then he showed up on the bench at Boston College, in civies. Over Christmas he was healthy again and got into some games. Then disappeared again, not seen in Hart in uniform or street clothes. Last year, Wilbar and Lewis quit the team and were very quickly removed from the roster. Tse was on the roster for the entire season. Tse appeared in some of the videos shown during time outs at Hart. Tse's picture was in the press release for senior day, but he did not participate. These are my observations. Frankly the signals are too mixed for me to draw any reasonable conclusion. I could speculate, but that's all it would be - uninformed speculation

Agree with Tom. Two facts to muddy the waters further:
1. He is definitely listed in the commencement program as a graduate 2. He definitely didn't "walk" last Friday as he is neither in the video (skipped his name) nor did I see him in case there was a fluky glitch in the video.
And, of course, he wasn't in the picture with Coach Paulsen with the other graduating seniors.
While I thought I saw C.J., it appears I must have had a mistaken identity as he is not in the video and Ayir Asante listed but also not in the video. Asterisks next to their names show Ayir as "degree conferred August 25, 2023 (why then in THIS program?) and C.J. "degree conferred January 12, 2024." Pat Haughney has the same note but did walk as does Devin Haskins who didn't walk.

Not in the video; not seen by yours truly; and not in the program?! So, unless he changed his name and came as the Invisible Man, he didn't get his sheepskin on Friday. I give up trying to figure out 5th year seniors; guys who are listed having graduated in 2023 in the 2024 program. Now with Covid extensions over, things will get back to normal, right? Oh, check that . . . . that transfer portal and NIL things. Patrick Haughney told me he was coming back for the commencement though academically finished last semester. Good to see Jake Dobbs come back too. Patrick did say he was offered at San Diego State but chose not to accept and just go to work. For him, he felt it was time to move on from football.

If you complete your academic requirements at some time other than early May, I believe you can walk at the next actual ceremony. If Asante got his final few credits in the summer session it would make sense that his degree was conferred in August 2023. Since there was no ceremony in August, it would also make sense that his name was in the program now and that he had the option of walking across the stage and getting handed a piece of paper

From DP:
Notably absent in Dave's note is Tse, as we've discussed before. While he is not mentioned here and while he is listed in the commencement program as a graduate, he was not at the DCU on May 24.
