A wonderful friend was presenting to his Georgetown Board this afternoon when he collapsed. He is in surgery at Georgetown in what they believe was a massive stroke. I would appreciate it if you would keepJack and his family in your prayers.

DeGioia is the President of Georgetown. I believe he has been university's President for over 20 years and is the first non-Jesuit to hold that position.

A stroke can be a bleed (like a burst aneurysm) or a clot.

A stroke can be a bleed (like a burst aneurysm) or a clot. And if they can diagnose a clot within 4-5 hours of the stroke, TPA does wonders, I'm told.
