Call me old-fashioned but I much prefer the sharp, clean look created by the differentiation of the light floor and the royal purple. I'm largely indifferent on the HC and the shield, honestly. I think it might look more authoritative (regal?) if the interlocking HC included letters with straight lines and right angles, similar to the interlocking HC shared earlier in the thread - whatever that font is. But again, just my opinion and not a dealbreaker for me. I'm also not a fan of the font used for "Holy Cross" on the baseline. I think that could be better, but overall I think the look in totality is sharper and better. Anything is better.... |

None of the many public MA. community colleges, state universities and UMass campuses that have basketball teams copied the brown amoeba on the Hart floor.
Holy Cross and Patriot League logos are both attractive and appropriate.

Holy Cross and Patriot League logos are both attractive and appropriate. I believe the Mullins Center at UMass has the Mass State drawing on it.. |

Their logo is fainter and seems to be less obtrusive even though it looks bigger from memory than HC's State outline. It also avoids putting a Minuteman with a musket on the floor. A state outline is less controversial than either a Crusader's Lance or a Minuteman's gun on a college campus these days. |
