How ridiculous is it that these two teams have not played each other in 1/3rd of a century?

Thank you Professor. Interesting to see the progression from RI State College to URI, kind of similar as Stockbridge School of Agriculture growing into UMass. I also like the Roy Mumpton term "Little Rhody." RI used to be Little Rhody and Connecticut used to be the Nutmeg State, now they are the Ocean State and the Constitution State.
Also noteworthy to read that the head coach and roster of BC attended a game to scout the Crusaders. A hint at how important the annual BC-HC gridiron clash was.

Amazing to see the Harvard Roster also took a bus man's holiday (I always think of Ralph Cramden going on vacation when I hear that term) to scout the game. They must have left Cambridge right after Saturday morning classes. Great research Professor.

Hunter Helms is the star HS recruit who committed to HC and then decommitted and went to Clemson. I don't think he played much but he's talented. You can't beat the irony.

Presumably because I already bought my tickets to the game, I was invited to an "open to the public" event at Mews Tavern to hear their coach talk about the upcoming season, and presumably the HC game. Not going. Anyone here might be going? Mews is a pretty nice bar.

Two QB's to prepare for. Could be interesting but also a problem for URI if they are two different styles of play. I believe I've watched Helms highlights from HS but haven't seen anything recent.

Neither Farrell nor Helms have taken meaningful snaps in their career. Might be a good thing.

When you have two quarterbacks you... Have none. Remember discussing this in 2021 when Sluka was rotating with Siderman. Especially after the Merrimack and Yale games.

When has a two QB system and alternating series ever worked for a team?

When has a two QB system and alternating series ever worked for a team? Watching the Montana State v New Mexico game I think the announcer said Tommy Mellotte essentially alternated at QB the last couple of years and that other QB is now on the Montana staff. Seemed kind of unusual (both running QBs as I recall) so that stuck in my head.

I'm not reading too much into this. He said they both would play. He didn't say he's going to use a two QB system.

Seemed kind of unusual (both running QBs as I recall) so that stuck in my head. That is true. Mellott rotated with Sean Chambers the last 2 years. Mellott played more run heavy downs. Chambers was an athletic QB himself but Mellott is more of a QB Power type of runner.

When you have two quarterbacks you... The same can be said for Red Sox second basemen. They've had around a half dozen and none of them have shown any mastery of the position.
Strict QB rotation (not implying this is the case in this situation) only seems to work in the wishbone-type offense. In fact, it's probably a necessity given how many QBs get dinged up running this type of attack.

I don't bet but sometimes like to look at the odds to see how others look at a game. Does anyone know if there are any odds for this game? BTW, I see that Lehigh is a massive underdog vs. Army, same for Bucknell against Navy, but Lafayette just a 3 point underdog against Buffalo.

Feeling HC is going to transition better than it did after Duffner and Willard left, but the URI game will be a key indicator. I would expect HC to be favored by 3-7 points. But it's betting on a pig in a poke as so much is uncertain.

But it's betting on a pig in a poke as so much is uncertain. Cannot compare when Duffner left to Chesney leaving. Vaas had no shot. Williard to Kearney is an appropriate comparision. I feel the coaching staff is the biggest unknown coming in.
