in the post game presser yday, Champion mentioned how the travel back and forth for the games at loyola and navy (4 total flights) took their toll on the team. well next week we have a similar dilemma. at bucknell monday night followed by at lafayette wed night. does anyone know if we're bussing back from lewisburg to attend tuesday classes, and then get back on the bus that afternoon for the 5 hours to easton. I don't usually agree with the travel fatigue issue but this could be a legit issue. do we have to duplicate the pl tourney travel craziness of last march?

I don't see the logic behind never having Boston U games midweek while school is in session...lessens the necessity of road trips like this.

Team will stay in PA after Bucknell game. Why at Bucknell is not played during breaks is beyond me.

Team will stay in PA after Bucknell game. Why at Bucknell is not played during breaks is beyond me. Normally the game at Bucknell is played Saturday afternoon, so it's not a big issue. HC was the victim of its own March success, which caused CBSSN to move this game to Monday. But even if they moved the game to the start of the season, that would only help HC every other year. And it would cause other issues since the first four games were squeezed into a short amount of time.

From the viewpoint of travel, Lehigh, Lafayette & Bucknell are in heaven in the PL. HC.......not so much.

From the viewpoint of travel, Lehigh, Lafayette & Bucknell are in heaven in the PL. HC.......not so much. You clearly have no idea where Bucknell is located. They have worse-than-average travel. Also, unlike HC, Boston, Navy, American, and Loyola, there is no way they can fly to any games.

From the viewpoint of travel, Lehigh, Lafayette & Bucknell are in heaven in the PL. HC.......not so much. As I waited for my casserole to finish baking in the oven I calculated the distances each PL team has to travel to reach each other PL school. I also put each trip into 1 of 4 different slots: (A) 60 miles or shorter= an easy trip, we can get home from the game with ease (B) 61 to 150 miles= okay, over an hour's drive but at least it's not three hours. We can handle it (C) 151 to 300 miles= drivable if not pleasant. [Yes there's a big difference between a 2& 1/2 hour drive and one of five hours, but I didn't want to split things too finely. I preferred driving on business trips under 3-- miles rather than going through the brutal hassles of flying] (D) 301 Miles or farther= a really annoying bus trip or we have to fly I do understand that different areas have different traffic concerns, e.g. BU likely faces more traffic congestion in Boston than Colgate does in Hamilton, NY. I did not look at the distances to the airports, e.g. Holy Cross having to bus to Providence or Boston before flying. Composite Miles= School ---A TRIPS--B TRIPS--C TRIPS--D TRIPS 1,550= Lehigh--1--3--4--1 1557= Lafayette--1--2--6--0 Yes, I understand that these first two schools are close to each other but the 12 mile difference put the trip to BU into a different category for each.school. 1,752= Army--0--2--7--0 If you buy my theory it looks like Army never needs to fly as longest trip is 278 miles to AU 1,834= Loyola--2--3--2--2 1,895= Bucknell--0--3--4--2 2,061= Navy--2--0--4--3 2,137= American U--2--0--4--3 2,342= Colgate--0--0--6--3 Colgate has only two trips under 200 miles, 196 to Lafayette and 171 to West Point 2,475= Holy Cross--1--0--4--4 2,776= Boston U--1--0--3--5
