The results from the Dartmouth Invitational have finally been posted. There were 40 yeas competing. The men finished 14th out of 40, while the women finished in 4th! Those are some nice results for two improving teams. Nice job!!!

The competition was mainly (totally?) D-2 and D-3 schools but perhaps we are seeing some improvement (see the thread on the Nat'l Catholic XC Championship) as last year the men finished 17th of 33 while the women were 4th of 33.

Don't underestimate some of those D2 and D3 programs. Cross country is a sport where a smaller school can get a better bang for the buck and they have some good teams/times.
It is hard (and almost impossible) to find the overall results if your school does not post them somewhere (as was the case with HC).

BTW, HC dominated the women's sub-varsity run winning with 20 points (Worcester State as second with 88). That is enough to win even a dual meet - and there were 12 teams entered. Out of 159 finishers, the HC women placed 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, (and non-scorers finishing 12, 13, 16, and 22) (The men did not enter a sub-varsity team.)

I think the women's track and cross country teams are on the upswing

For what its worth, the HC runners who competed at UMASS Dartmouth were not the varsity who had run at ND the day before so the results were, presumably, our "second team" against other schools top 7, although better teams often hold one or two runners out per meet early in the season so one can never be sure.

good point - also the topic of this thread is misleading - it's Umass-Dartmouth that hosts this event every year on the same weekend as the National Catholic at ND.

Alum--thanks for adding that into--usually I check to see how individual runners did,but didn't do so this time, so I didn't see that our top runners were not in the race
